#HDSB letter to Minister @Sflecce imploring the release of the de-streamed grade 9 math curriculum. Implementation this September. Well-trained & prepared staff produce better & more consistent learning outcomes for students. Time is running out! docs.google.com/document/d/1… #OntEd
While we’re on topic of whether Ontario’s edu system is “broken” as @fordnation @LisaThompsonMPP say. Here’s latest @OECDEduSkills Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) results for Reading. Ontario is 1 of very top performing edu systems in world. #OntEd #OnPoli

Thanks Rick for sharing this out. As a result of this meeting, other positive improvements took place in the working relationship between the town and the HDSB !
Remember the friction with @HaltonDSB and the Town years ago over MSB lands. Town paid to save the land from developers. Also leased more land. Had a recent meeting with @gray4trustee Supt. Miller. Result: school board dropping the lease. Good news. #leadership @MelissaSecord

What a fabulous resource for parents and worth reviewing with your children from time to time!
If you missed First Rider or just want to watch the bus safety video again with your kids, look under the Safety Tab on our website. ow.ly/omXn30lBve7 It is full of great points for all JK, SK and young students riding the bus (and parents!). @HCDSB @HaltonDSB
Incredibly important 365 days of the year!
Most children have not yet developed the skills to be safe in traffic. Of particular concern is that they may have trouble judging the speed of cars. If you drive or park near a school zone, please remain extra watchful for the little ones. #SafeStart ^jh
I love this concept!
Students self assessing themselves as they leave PE. We are working on being honest and being better than we were the day before. #hardwork #honesty #bdp3 #kmdolphins #physicaleducation

The Ontario Principals' Council has made it quite clear in their letter to the Minister of Education!
With the revised HPE curriculum, students are receiving information about their physical, mental & emotional health that is topical, relevant, research-based & age-appropriate. We urge the Minister to keep the curriculum in place. Our letter here: principals.ca/Documents/Lett…

“This year’s Grade 12 students weren’t even alive when the 1998 curriculum was written. There is nothing in their generational experience that is reflected in the 1998 curriculum.” Prof. Lauren Bialystok responds to Ontario's #SexEd curriculum repeal. observerxtra.com/2018/07/19/…
The messaging in the Ontario Public School Board Association is pretty clear!
School boards must ensure student safety, well-being. In support of members @OPSBA President @CathyAbraham sent a letter to Min of Education supporting the 2015 H&PE curriculum & advocating for a modernized approach to any further revisions: ow.ly/Wkxy30l8cBk #onpoli #onted
