The Nasdaq finished the week strong amid a rate hike, 5% Treasury yields and triple witching. Oil prices fading helped. So that's encouraging. But the Nasdaq finished strong the prior week, only to fall back. The Nasdaq has finished high-ish in its weekly range for 4 weeks. 1/

Not only is food getting more abundant, but it also takes less land to produce. In 2022, thanks to rising yields, growing a given quantity of crops required 70% less arable land than it did in 1961.

In a world trained on 20 years of "free" ad-supported tech (Search, YouTube, email, Maps), getting ~6% of young consumers to drop $20/mo out of pocket for software in under 3 years is wild.
Almost nobody pays for AI out of pocket yet Only ~3% of US consumers do, up from under 1% in 2023 The youngest buyers are adopting at 4x the rate of the oldest Charts of the Week: a16z.news/p/charts-of-the-we…

🚨 Morgan Stanley just raised its $TSLA bull case to $840, and the Tesla Semi is a big reason why@ Brian White @FutureAZA highlights the economics behind it: autonomous trucking could mean 2.3x better utilization, 20% lower cost per mile, and up to 6x more profit per truck. The wild part is FSD pricing. Consumer FSD is around $100/month. Semi FSD could be worth $12,000–$18,000 per truck, per month. That could turn autonomous trucking software into a $15B business by 2040! If Tesla can make autonomy work at scale, the Semi may end up being far more than just another vehicle. 🚀

No one puts #BYD at the top - or even near the top - of leading Level 2 ADAS ... let alone L4. I'm sure BYD is analyzing the data like crazy and making improvements. But, data definitely isn't everything. It's definitely not a moat.
BYD ADAS has now reached 3.72m vehicles including 201,533 added in Aug Accumulating 230m km of data everyday as BYD ADAS continue to just gather huge swaths of data.

$DBO.TO $DBOXF $CGX.TO Cineplex Reports Highest Monthly Box Office of All-Time in August 2026 👏 Cineplex's box office revenue was up 100% YoY in August and up 40% Q3 to date. ''Strong consumer demand to see these incredible films in premium formats also contributed to record guest spending.'' It bodes well for D-BOX's upcoming quarterly results 👀 Disclaimer: The Rivemont MicroCap Fund is long D-BOX Technologies (TSX: DBO). I am the portfolio manager and a unitholder of the fund. The market is confusing a model release calendar with a physical infrastructure buildout. Dario Amodei asks Washington for an antitrust waiver to coordinate safety checkpoints, and Wall Street acts like hyperscalers are unplugging gigawatt data centers and tearing up purchase orders. You don’t pause a $700B capex cycle with a blog post. If frontier training takes a breath, that compute doesn't sit idle—it pivots straight into enterprise fine-tuning, reasoning models, and runaway inference demand.
