Parnell's statement today includes a line that is awfully similar to what the Pentagon IG (an independent watchdog) concluded about Hegseth's role in SignalGate: cnn.com/2025/12/03/politics/…
Replying to @ZcohenCNN
Pentagon spox Sean Parnell issues an on-record statement that does not mention Lt. Gen. Sylvia by name but does use some familiar language about the risks associated with disclosures of classified material.
Haley Britzky retweeted
Noteworthy differences between this statement and the anonymous first one from the Pentagon:
1) It alludes to the leak of "sensitive national security information," not classified information. They are different, both legally and practically.
2) It does not name Lt. Gen. Sylvia by name.
3) It does not directly accuse Sylvia of leaking classified information.
These are significant legal differences.
The Department of War has zero tolerance for the intentional, unauthorized disclosure of classified information. Anyone who compromises sensitive national security information puts the lives of our Warriors at risk and undermines every military operation that keeps our country safe.
Following an extensive Air Force OSI investigation, the Department took necessary personnel action to protect sensitive information. To protect the integrity of the investigation, no further comment will be made regarding the individual or the circumstances of this action.
This matter, along with others, have been referred to the Justice Department for potential further legal action.
Classified information is not personal property. Leaking it for personal, political or professional gain is a betrayal of the trust placed in those responsible for keeping it.
Our commitment was not an empty promise. We vowed to find you, and we meant it.

The DOD watchdog has declined a bipartisan request to open an investigation into the slowdown of the SpaceX’s military-grade Starlink system in Ukraine, per a letter obtained by CNN.
DOD IG said the senators’ questions about the slowdowns & impacts should be directed to the US Air Force and Space Force.

Sen. @tedcruz in March: "I don't believe that what is happening in Iran will be front and center in November. If it extends that long, we've done something wildly wrong... The president said at the beginning this is going to be a matter of several weeks."

Ryan Higgins, a senior adviser to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on religious issues, defended a video President Donald Trump shared depicting the Obamas as apes, said same-sex marriage was “abominable,” and speculated about how many abortions former Vice President Kamala Harris might have had, citing her age and claiming she had a “long record of sleeping around.”
In response to tabloid coverage of alleged sex crimes in Europe committed by immigrants, Higgins said, "They act like barbarians, killing and raping our white women."

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth's senior adviser on religious issues, Ryan Higgins, has said the “Separation of Church and State does not exist," railed against “the satanic cult of LGBTQ,” criticized gay adoption as “buying babies,” told women that "No ‘career’ will ever give you the fulfillment you’re looking for that can only be found from being a mother,” and compared abortion to the Holocaust, posting it was like “saying Nazi concentration camps were ethnic end-of-life care.”
Sources say Higgins has played a role in shaping some of Hegseth's most incendiary remarks on faith and religion, and is now a key player in the newly announced Office of Religious Affairs at the Pentagon.

Hots&Cots has never been my full-time job. It’s been nights, weekends, and vacation days.
My day job has been almost 13 years at Microsoft, most recently as a senior iOS engineer. I’m part of this round.
So I’m open to two things:
* A full-time senior iOS role, building apps or the platforms behind them.
* Contract work. If you need an iOS, Android, or web app built end to end, that’s how I built Hots&Cots.
DMs are open. Hots&Cots isn’t going anywhere.
BREAKING: Microsoft, $MSFT, is offering buyouts to 60,000 workers as part of the company’s efforts to cut costs amid AI adoption, per Bloomberg.
Personnel on select teams in the US, Canada, India, and the UK at a vice president level and below will be eligible.
This reflects ~27% of Microsoft's total workforce.

I told the president that he must now know who restricted access to Ukraine's use of Starlink and Starshield (given it's been days), and asked who it was. He claimed he even if he did know, he wouldn't tell the media.
He also said if there continues to be issues for Ukraine (Zelensky says there are) then he'll "get it straightened out"

Wiktoff also praised Putin as a "humanitarian" for Hubbard's release. Just this week, Putin's war in Ukraine killed scores of civilians, including a one year old child
A video shared with CNN showed Hubbard meeting Witkoff & Russia's Kirill Dmitriev at the airport.
Witkoff told Hubbard, who had spent years in Russian prison, that Putin “sends you blessings and wishes you good things.”

HUGE NEWS: I'm so excited to tell you all about the Sloth Act!!!
It will BAN SLOTH IMPORTS to the United States and its due to @RepMaxwellFrost's serious approach and thoughtful work. His team has collaborated with @slothinstitute and @SlothCon to get this right.
This will save the lives of sloths.
The horror of Sloth World where dozens of sloths died due to improper handling and care underscored the need for this.
Sloths are incredibly delicate and they do not do well in captivity. We should not be bringing them to the U.S.
LIVE: Congressman Maxwell Frost and other leaders are holding a news conference to introduce the Sloths Act, a bill that would largely ban sloth imports into the U.S.
It comes in wake of the 50+ sloth deaths connected to Sloth World Orlando. nitter.cf/i/broadcasts/1Oxwbnjrj…
