OPINION: Studies have shown that adding more traffic lanes results in “induced demand” for driving that quickly results in even more roadway congestion.

The state of California has a $30 billion transportation budget. The lion’s share goes to highways. Meanwhile, the state is on the verge of cutting funds for public transit. Tell your legislators that this is unacceptable and to fund public transit.

Additionally, #AB2086 by Asm @Pilar4CA passed the Transportation Committee with bipartisan support, and #AB2401 authored by Asm @PhilTing passed through the Natural Resources Committee, chaired by Asm Bryan, also with bipartisan support. Next up: Asm Appropriations Committee!
