A podcast I produced won @TravWriters travel broadcast of the year! It's a mix of location recordings by @AshBhardwaj up a mountain in Nepal and conversation between Ash and @PipStewart. And it starts with Ash going to the toilet so it was already a winner in my mind 🥇
Put your hands together for Ash Bhardwaj (@AshBhardwaj), winner of this year's Travel Broadcast of the Year with 'First dispatch from Nepal' for The First Mile, sponsored by Riverside Studios. #BGTWAwards2022

With troops in Gaza, settlers are now recruited & armed — blurring the line between settler & state violence 🧵 @thetimes

Our story on Ana Obregón, who used her dead son's sperm to have a baby at 68, is nominated @IWPodcastAwards . A mad tabloid tale that sparked a nuanced conversation about the future of fertility & one of the funnest things I've worked on w/

Really pleased that Children locked away: Britain’s modern bedlam has been nominated for an Aria.
@louisetickle & I told the story of the country’s most distressed & vulnerable children, who are locked away and abandoned by the state

Also all of our Slow Newscasts are a team effort: from our design team who created the beautiful tile seen below, to the sound designers like @hannvarr who made this week's episode sound so good

Delighted to be a finalist for Podcast of the Year with @hannvarr and @Geordiedav for God on your side: Christians, courts and culture wars @tortoise
Three team entries are competing for the #MJAAwards prize for Podcast of the Year:
@EmmaBower and Czarina Deen from @Haymarket_Media;
@RachelEllisPhD @hannvarr & @Geordiedav from @tortoise;
Nick Petric Howe @TulikaBose_ @Jeffdelviscio @noabaker & Melissa Nobles from @Nature
I've loved doing the sound design on this Slow Newscast series about Epstein's moneymen - lots of sleazy brass and ominous bass to complement great work by @imy_harper and @Geordiedav
"His behaviour was so widely understood at JP Morgan that senior executives emailed jokes to each other about his interest in young girls."
JP Morgan’s reported $290 million settlement was a long time coming – and it’s unlikely to be the last.

I did the sound design and mixing on this episode, it's such an important listen and brilliantly made by @louisetickle and @paticlarke
The country's most distressed & vulnerable children are being locked away and abandoned by the state.
@GillianKeegan was called to court to address the issue – but she asked to be excused. She also refused multiple @tortoise interview requests.

@rachellismedia and @hannvarr dig into the Christian Legal Centre, their links to US evangelicals and their efforts to use the UK courts in their “cultural battle for the heart of a nation” against what they call a “hard, secular liberal culture”

I've documented 5 sexual assault allegations against Crispin Odey, one of Britain's richest men & a Conservatives & Brexit donor.
The 5 women don't know each other. Their allegations span 24 years. Odey says they contain “falsehoods” and “inaccuracies”.
