"Anakin, your performance on practical assessments was the highest on record. Midichlorian testing, however, shows disparate impact across species, and we are required to adjust our process to meet equity targets. We must therefore decline at this time."
“Anakin, you are the most talented applicant we’ve ever seen, however we must hit our Jawa and Kaminoan quotas, so we have to reject you at this time. Thank you for your interest.”

The left is most correctly modeled as a state-takeover cult
This thing where liberals have uncontrollable audible outbursts whenever they hear something they disagree with really needs to be studied. What in the world is going on there? I’m being totally serious. I’m not trying to make fun of anybody here or just saying something snarky. It’s very strange the way they audibly gasp whenever they hear something with which they disagree. I’ve never once heard a conservative do this. Go watch an Ann Colter video from 20 years ago where she speaks to a liberal college audience. They literally cannot sit still and listen to somebody say something with which they disagree. Nervous laughter, audible moans and groans, literal gasps. And every other speaker who goes up to the mic feels compelled to ask her, “do you really believe what you’re saying? I mean, is this a bit or do you really believe it?” Again, I’m not trying to be funny or snarky here. It’s very weird how just one political faction does this.

'the nightmare before christmas' was released 31 years ago today. a strange film: after three decades, its still a feature of the cultural landscape (year round), you see its imagery often - it clearly has a special relationship to us. this year, i tried to figure out why ...

I had to go through an approved course and submit paperwork before I was allowed to marry in the Catholic Church. So I guess requiring some paperwork and approval process before extending benefits and recognition is okay.

It’s the feast of St. Jude, one of the most popular saints around. We go to Jesus through his intercession for impossible causes. We don’t really know why – scholars speculate it’s because he was the forgotten apostle, because he was mixed up with Judas Iscariot. So, St. Jude gives us a lot of hope. My beloved Milwaukee Brewers have long been considered an impossible cause. We’ll keep praying! @thegnewsroom

If you dig into people’s lives that have financial troubles you’ll find the cloud of chaos. A never ending vortex of interpersonal drama, of jobs lost (never their fault), cheating, low level criminality, substance abuse, injuries etc… if you grew up with these people you know the financial troubles are just another manifestation of their poor choices. If they tripped and fell into 7 figures they stand up in debt. I think that’s why Caleb gets so much hate. It shows how much of this chaos is self caused. How much of it can’t be fixed with more money. This threatens a lot of assumptions about the root causes of things like criminal justice and welfare.

Honestly the fact that near-universal accessibility of rideshare services has done nothing for DUI fatalities says something incredibly damning about this kind of offender Whatever we do to them needs to be extremely punishing
Imagine a drunk driver hits your kid in a crosswalk and you find out he would still have been in jail if not for his last victim fighting tooth and nail to keep him out

Your parents had parents willing to watch kids for weeks at a time for free. Most Millennials don't have that.
This is why modern parenting is like prison. This mindset just straight up didn’t exist 30 years ago. My parents left the COUNTRY for multiple weeks and left me and my brother with my grandma and we did not die or even care lmaoo

They're having a rape-off
Amy Acton doesn’t get to hide behind being raped as a child to dodge answers about her plans for Ohio. I was molested as a child, that doesn’t excuse me from things that I do today. Give me a break. Who the fuck does she think she is? If that’s your closing campaign message, you have nothing else.

Women are so terminally solipsistic they literally cannot fathom an individual being disgusted by practices which benefit them but are bad for society. The most basic cognitive requirements for the development of functional morality are simply unavailable to them.
i understand why women dislike slutty women—the threat is obvious there. but why do men hate sluts so much? men should like sluts. i can see someone having a preference for their own girlfriend to not be a slut (tho sluts have high libidos and know what they’re doing!), but why are men so mad about random girls being slutty? the only thing i can think is that they’re mad that the girl seemingly had sex with everyone except for them.

I was quite young at the time but I felt like I was losing my mind a bit despite being a naive lib. Libs would say the strangest shit imaginable about Obama, it was genuinely cult like
A big part of the Obama presidency that’s kind of forgotten now was Obama saying the corniest shit imaginable and then a bunch of otherwise jaded liberals falling over themselves to say how “cool” he was
