Proud to present my lifesize T. rex head, affectionately named Hannibal. I created this myself from start to finish- digital sculpture, 3D printing, painting, etc. Quite a learning curve involved but very pleased with how he turned out.

Amateurs disagreeing with established industry pro experts on whether a piece of art is AI genuinely sound like “do your own research” boomers on facebook. It’s embarrassing

Seeing younger artists, artists my age, promoting themselves on the back of an unfair wave of hate directed at another artist already integrated into the industry and just thinking "are you guys stupid??"

Since you are someone who clearly holds the best interests of artists and the art community close to your heart, I take your point under consideration

Happy to hop out of lala land to listen and learn when you can elucidate what your point actually is

Lol if no one pays it then she will likely lower the price until someone does. This is not a novel approach to pricing, and it’s yet another reason not to be upset at the asking price. Hard to be outraged at someone getting paid a certain amount when they are in fact not.

I think you must understand that mistakes are irrelevant if someone is willing to pay the price despite them. At the root of it all I think you’re mostly upset that an artist can make that kind of money off a piece, in a career that is often perceived as not real work.

Someone is charging a premium price for a luxury good. Many such cases. If you don’t want to buy it or can’t afford it, then don’t lol. It’s kind of completely irrelevant if you think it’s worth the money or not. Free market innit

AI accusation has been categorically debunked by RJ in the thread. Further I was in the same discord server where I saw her work on the piece over a period of months, including RJ providing crits and redlines which she later incorporated. Why on earth wouldn’t the 4500 be fair?

If you are upset by seeing an artist charge $4.5k for a commission… why? You don’t have to buy it. Just close your eyes bro… Just walk away from the screen…

This is not to mention the discussion about commission rates, like… give me a break

Begging people to leave the AI callouts to people who actually have a clue about what they are doing. Your kneejerk, unqualified opinions hurt artists just like AI does. Sit down.

Extremely disappointed to see just a totally unjustified dogpile on this post by my friend Chainsawroll. Usual suspects don’t surprise me, but supposedly well-meaning people calling out AI usage (despite ample evidence to the contrary) is totally unconscionable. Shame on you.
Slots are open 4500 usd full illustration (1 slot) 800 usd portrait (3 slots) [email protected] if interested. Not ai, 100 percent human drawn art. Post shares and engagement are appreciated

After the digital sculpt was complete, I cut it into parts to fit my printers. Done in zbrush. The head was split into 12 main parts, which were bolted together. Gaps between parts filled. The cuts were made to follow the outline of the scales to reduce visibility of the seams.
