Back from a productive week in Mozambique 🇲🇿, engaging a wide range of stakeholders, from PSCs & CSOs to government & unions. Our country-focused approach prioritises long-term, sustainable engagement with all key actors and collective action to raise #privatesecurity standards.

🇲🇿 In Maputo, ICoCA, @DCAF_Geneva & @CDD_Moz co-hosted a conference on a more accountable #privatesecurity sector. Gov, industry, clients & CSOs discussed standards & collaboration, supporting Mozambique’s National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights & ICoCA accession.

Running La Course de l’Escalade last Saturday🍲🇨🇭 reminded us that teamwork, perseverance and looking out for each other aren’t just for races – they’re everyday essentials for protecting human rights. ✊ This #HumanRightsDay, we celebrate them.

Last week’s 12th AGA united the ICoCA community to review achievements, discuss priorities and look ahead. We were proud to announce the winners of our first #ResponsibleSecurity Awards, recognising leadership in responsible practices. 📄 Annual Report: bit.ly/4pq8Bvz

🇪🇬 ICoCA was honoured to join the official launch of the ICoCA Egypt Chapter last week, presenting at a roundtable hosted by the Canadian Embassy in Egypt. A key step in advancing responsible #privatesecurity, human rights and international standards across the region. ⚖️🤝

🇳🇬 Last week, ICoCA's visit to Nigeria was also an opportunity to engage PSCs, clients, regulators & civil society. Discussions focused on operational challenges, human rights, accountability, sector collaboration, working conditions & Nigeria’s potential participation in ICoCA.

🇳🇬 After a successful start in the DRC, the Corporate Accountability Initiative (CAI), with TRIAL & @AfriLaw and co-funded by the EU, held its 2nd training to empower Nigerian CSOs to monitor, document and report corporate crimes, including abuses linked to #privatesecurity.

🇧🇷 ICoCA makes its first visit to Brazil, joining Ipieca’s Social Responsibility Group, #HumanRights Working Group, #ResponsibleSecurity Taskforce to share how ICoCA due diligence helps mitigate security risks for clients. Thanks Ipieca for the invitation & partnership! 🤝🌎

Staff safety is a top priority for businesses in wartime Ukraine 🇺🇦. We joined @ChamberUkraine and @ASIS_Intl to show how accountable #privatesecurity, global standards & strong risk management help companies protect people, operate safely and stay resilient in tough conditions.

How can responsible #security build trust and resilience for sustainable mining? 🌿⛏️ At @IGFMining AGM, ICoCA’s Chris Galvin stressed that when security is community-rooted, rights-respecting and transparent, it protects not just assets – but relationships, peace and prosperity.

🇩🇴 #Privatesecurity in Latin America faces ethical, technological and regulatory challenges. ICoCA joined leaders at the XVI International Security & Defense Summit to explore solutions for a more sustainable, professional and rights-respecting security sector.
