Quai Network is coming across many folks radars for the very first time these days, but most don't realize how long the project has been around. From idea to year 1, the timeline spans 8 years. The first academic paper celebrated its 7 year birthday in October last year. The discord community will be turning 5 years old today. A lot of our ambassadors and community members are some of the most dedicated in the entire crypto space. The culture and value alignment is stronger than any other community I've been a part of. While Project SOAP has enabled a real economic flywheel where real revenue from subsidy chains generate buybacks and burn in Quai, there is so much more to what @quainetwork is at it's core. Focusing on first principals and using a market incentive design approach to achieve all the fundamentals of what blockchains are supposed to be for a globally decentralized monetary base required real time in research and development. By comparison; ETH only spent ~18 months from idea to mainnet. Today @VitalikButerin said 2026 is the year we "re-focus" on sovereignty and decentralization. These fundamentals were clearly nice-to-haves and potential future side-cars from the outset. Today they are inefficient "bolt-on" fixes for a fundamentally lacking system. When you build for all the fundamentals from the outset, you wind up with a system that looks very different than what most of CT is used to expecting. I encourage everyone to challenge their own belief system on what a blockchain can achieve and what it should look like. Trade-offs were made, but at the end of the day, the user experience will still be far better than that of the current financial system. ...and that's the goal of crypto... To replace fiat, backed by nothing and corrupted by fractional-reserve banking with a real decentralized monetary system where value is baked in physics and code. @QuaiNetwork is picking up where BTC and ETH left off, and today it's already generated nearly $500k in revenue a month while creating a positive feedback loop for everyone involved.
