My father fought against fascism in WW2. The human cost of this terrible war was inestimable. He was a good man, a loving man, and hid his war suffering well, until he was dying. And then his war trauma crawled out of him in his last days. I honor him today and every day,

If I could pick one underemphasized issue that could re-connect Democrats with disaffected voters, it would be raising educational performance of their kids, including dealing with learning loss and other aftereffects of covid. I heard it everywhere. A serious cause of anxiety.

I remember when voting meant going behind a dirty curtain and cranking a bunch of levers like you were the goddamn Wizard of Oz. It was phenomenal.

With nearly everyone inside Trump’s final rally of the cycle, more than half of the upper bowl is barren here at the Van Andel arena in Grand Rapids.

This is worth watching to understand the Rogan/RFK jr perspective on vaccines. They’re not just against the covid vax, or MRNA, or mandates. These guys think the polio vaccine didn’t work. It’s that extreme.

These headlines from major news orgs deserve significant awareness (Time, WSJ, Politico, CNN) but will get very few retweets - as they’ll be suppressed due to their linking out. “Speakers at Trump MSG rally insult minorities.”

Do not obey in advance. Lesson 1, first page, of my pamphlet "On Tyranny"
1. Do not obey in advance. Most of the power of authoritarianism is freely given. In times like these, individuals think ahead about what a more repressive government will want, and then offer themselves without being asked. A citizen who adapts in this way is teaching power what it can do.
