In resurfaced footage of Dario Amodei being interviewed, the Anthropic CEO says there will be AIs so powerful that if they want to destroy humanity, “we have basically no ability to stop it.” “There will be powerful models. They will be agentic. We’re getting towards them.” “If such a model wanted to wreak havoc and destroy humanity or whatever, I think we have basically no ability to stop it.”

James Talarico traces 50 years of trickle-down back to one 1971 document, the Powell memo, a corporate blueprint to buy power “In fact, you can, you can pinpoint this one document called the Powell memo, 1971.” “But if you read this memo, it's basically a blueprint for how corporate interests can start to dismantle the Great Society and the New Deal” “They're going to spend massive amounts of money in our politics, buying politicians in both parties, elevate corporate voices in media, appoint sympathetic judges.” “And that has really been the story of the last 50 years in this country, last five decades.” w/ @jamestalarico

Schumer refused to endorse the Democrat who has become the most popular mayor in the most important city in the country—in his own home state—because of Schumer’s support for Netanyahu. Schumer should not be Majority Leader.

Stuff Chris Hedges and Ralph Nader were saying in the Obama Era now coming from a Democratic Senator from Texas. We have entered the new world.

In any world that made any sense at all (sadly not this one), all of these people would be in prison.

Found this exchange from a recent interview pretty interesting as it shows Dario and Daniela Amodei dismissing the transhumanist idea of melding human minds with machines. Of course people can change, but our reporting showed that a young Dario was intrigued by this very idea. nytimes.com/2026/11/05/techn…
I find it hilarious that Daniela does Appeal To Social Consensus Face on the concept that _anyone_ at *Anthropic* (!) is a transhumanist

Also AI bros: “If people have to starve to death after being unemployed while we wait for UBI that’s just acceptable losses.”
Slowing down AI is not just about waiting a few more years for better tech. It means losing millions of people who will die from diseases that AI could have cured.

If these freaks are even partially correct about what AI could be, they should all be locked up for trying to build it.

They will always be looking out for their own profit — at the expense of our neighborhoods, our water, our resources, and our electricity bills.
New reporting reveals Trump’s Interior Secretary Doug Burgum has between $18.1M-$64.4M invested in AI companies looking to build data centers. Burgum has strongly advocated for using public lands to build data centers and stands to profit off their development.

Do you support the Green New Deal? Ossoff [smugly]: no Do you support Medicare for All? Ossoff [smugly]: no Do you support abolishing ICE? Ossoff [smugly]: no Any poll that has Jon Ossoff or Gavin Newsom as more likely to win a general election over AOC is a junk poll.

For years, my dad battled Parkinson’s disease. On Election Night, I got to tell him, “Pop, we won.” This morning, he passed away. A part of me believes he held on just long enough to see his son make it to Congress. He won’t be there when I’m sworn in. But I know he’ll be standing right beside me. Rest easy, Daddy. I’ll take it from here. These next two years are for you ❤️
