This Minister is taking me to court because she's claiming I said it was her who uttered the words "squeeze like cranberry juice", she's not taking me to court because I exposed she used R15 million of our tax money on lavish hotels & flights in just 8 months And she's not taking me to court because I exposed she appointed her boyfriend to a senior management position in her department & appointed another person with a criminal record to another senior government position, she's taking me to court for "cranberry juice" The government Ministers yall have.

The flood-damaged sections of the MR547 between Klawer and Vredendal have been repaired.👏👏👏 Work on the Klawer bridge continues, with the eastern support 60% complete and the western support 10% complete. Steel reinforcement is being installed, with roadworks and erosion protection on the eastern side to follow. One more section of the road is being assessed to see if further work is needed. I'm concerned by the increasingly hostile anti-DA rhetoric from ActionSA leaders on X over the past 24 hours. I haven't seen similar public attacks from members of the DA's Federal Council. It makes me wonder how constructive their coalition negotiations will be. The tone...

They didn't even bother to check, learn, progress. Too arrogant and entitled.
Even Ramaphosa was campaigning for the DA in an ANC event #LGE2026

It's a great day to be a noted part of history. Again. My first vote 17 March 1992. I was 18 and 18 days old. I was part of a sentiment to change history once. And I'm part of that same sentiment to do right. Again. Great day to be alive 🙌 🇿🇦🫶💙👏

Hey @RenaldoGouws, remember that time someone took a few seconds of video out of a much larger context and tried to get someone fired? Ja. The time YOU tried to assassinate my character. Learn to play the game. Internet popular ≠ real-world popular. Daniel Schay in Ward 72 Joburg: 89% Renaldo Gouws in Ward 5 NMB: 3%

South Africans have given us a historic opportunity to get many towns and cities working for all. We must now rise to the occasion. We can now say with certainty that roughly 1 million black South Africans voted for the Democratic Alliance on Wednesday, making us a mainstream party in every community. Voters can see the effort the DA makes to govern well for everyone and improve the living conditions and dignity of every person. The DA would like to bring parties together around a shared programme of good government for all. I invite every party willing to put residents first to join us. We seek partners committed to bringing integrity to local government, stable government, zero tolerance for corruption, merit-based appointments, sound financial management and measurable improvements in basic services for all residents. South Africa can work for everyone. The DA is ready to do our part. 🇿🇦

ASA vibe is angry, arrogant and audacious, without merit. Not cool. We need leaders that can unite. ASA doesn't display unity.

Grammatical note: ASA very upset about the acronym ASA. It’s a standard acronym and applied to all parties equally: First letter of each word = ANC, DA, SACP, EFF and, believe it or not, ASA. If you think ASA special, fine. But don’t expect language rules to change for you.

Auditor-General Raises Alarm Over Gayton McKenzie’s Department of Sport, Arts and Culture After R67 Million Irregular Spending And R1.68 Million Wasteful Expenditure Is Uncovered The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, led by Minister Gayton McKenzie, has been flagged for R67 million in irregular expenditure, according to findings by the Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA). The findings have raised concerns about financial management, accountability and weaknesses in internal controls within the department and its entities. The department initially reported R10.43 million in irregular expenditure for the 2024/25 financial year, but the Auditor-General established that the actual amount was R42 million. This figure increased to R67 million in 2025/26. The AGSA warned that the amount could be higher because the Mandela Bay Theatre Complex and Robben Island Museum could not quantify their irregular expenditure. The department's historical irregular expenditure balance also remained substantial, although it decreased from R861 million to R839 million. The Auditor-General further identified R1.68 million in fruitless and wasteful expenditure across 11 entities, alongside concerns about unspent grants, budget overspending and weaknesses in financial oversight. Responding to parliamentary questions, McKenzie said the department had developed an audit action plan, reviewed by Internal Audit, to address the root causes of the 2024/25 audit findings. He said corrective measures were assigned to responsible programmes with deadlines and monitored through quarterly reports to departmental management and the Audit Committee. Parliament is expected to monitor progress in strengthening financial accountability.
