The Canadian judge noted in his ruling that a key government study concluded “inadequate security screening led to many perpetrators of Nazi war crimes entering Canada.”
The judge also said the study concluded Canada was reluctant to prosecute such war criminals.
To this very day, the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies at the University of Alberta maintains eight endowments in the names of Ukrainian SS veterans.
