Refineries move higher when the spread between refined products and crude oil widens. They can benefit when crude falls and the price of refined products doesn’t follow suit.
Always watch both.

My guess is that it incorporates expectations of a slowdown in the AI buildout? That would remove the industrial use case tailwind for silver while the debasement trade continues
You people love saying this without providing any sort of counter argument
Are you arguing against the fact that dividend issuance is a net zero gain for investors?
Just repeating the same shit

You’re earning no more than you would earn if you held the stock and it didn’t pay a divi

I think they’re down bad and trying to offer entry liquidity instead 😂😂😂
That’s because you do as well
The fact that you are both at a retirement age and don’t understand that dividend payments are taken out of company valuation (through reduced EPS) is worrying. You are simply being given in advance a portion what would otherwise be capital apprec.
Not sure what that has to do with anything mate
Just because I’m calling someone out on their naive understanding of dividends does not mean I must have all the answers for personal finance

1) he is trying to compare the returns of a lump sum investment in a bank account to a repeated investment into dividends. Completely incomparable.
2) if you do YOUR homework you’ll learn that your point about the price action in the run up to the exdiv date is exactly my point

Hey, can I ask why dividends are such an important factor for a long term hold, for you?
Are you aware that over the long term you would see no difference in the overall return in a stock if it pays dividends / doesn’t? The dividend paid is taken out of the stock price.
