After ten years in crypto, I’m starting something new. I’m building WeLikeSports.com with a small team of elite operators that I’ve been hoping to work with for years. On the surface, it’s a sports pool platform. But to me, it’s something else entirely. A small window into a possible future: one where money, games, and people are deeply and effortlessly intertwined. And a business model where the platform succeeds when the user succeeds. Where the ethical decision is also the economically rational decision. I’ve spent the last decade investing, trading, and helping teams build, mostly in B2B platforms. Along the way, I’ve met a lot of incredible founders and watched companies like @Morpho @Multisig and @GromaCorp grow from ideas into businesses. As an investor in both Luna and FTX, I’ve also seen a lot of things go terribly wrong. You learn a lot watching companies get built. But eventually, you get tired of cheerleading. For the last decade I’ve helped other people build their vision. Now I feel ready to build my own.
1/ Today we’re introducing WeLikeSports.com: a better way to run sports pools with friends. No rake, no commissioner, no waiting for payouts. Just set up a bracket, survivor, squares, or pick’em pool and you're ready to win.

NYC Subway ads should be sold only to local businesses so it should be like “get off in 2 stops for the best bagels you ever had” not “buy this saas with AI for your SAAS AI business”

I just want to get my iPhone duo so I can stand in line for $60 bread
🇺🇸 This bakery in New York charges $60 for what looks like a stale loaf of bread. The places justifies the absurd price point by suggesting the rye flour is imported from Austria. Good luck, New Yorkers! 😂 Writer: Mhedi

i find the best way to limit your token usage is to tell gpt to write a prompt you will use with claude and tell claude that you are using gpt to prompt and then their natural incentive is to reduce the tokens consumed by their competitors model

I am once again warning you that line makers are not respecting the patriots. While this is not as sure of a lock as Raiders was, I have Pats here ATS and the under.

I love Survivor and this week is a great example of why: The obvious NFL Survivor pick in Week 7 is Houston, a 10.5-point favorite over the Giants. But if you're actually trying to WIN your Survivor pool, rather than just survive another week, I think there's a strong argument for saving the Texans. Survivor is ultimately a game of future value. The question isn't just which team gives you the highest probability of advancing this week, it's which sequence of picks gives you the highest probability of surviving the entire season. Consider the Cowboys: Dallas is a 4.5-point road favorite against Philadelphia this week. That's a reasonable Survivor option, but in Week 11 they host the Titans, a matchup where they're projected to be roughly 10.5-point favorites. Burning Dallas now means giving up one of your best potential picks in Week 11. But this is where it gets interesting with Houston. The Texans host the Titans in Week 18. Jacksonville currently has a decisive lead in the AFC South. If that holds, Houston could enter Week 18 fighting for a wild-card spot, while Tennessee may have absolutely nothing left to play for. That creates a potentially incredible Survivor matchup at the most important point in the season. And the alternatives in Week 18 aren't particularly abundant. The other attractive matchups currently look like, which are all teams that could already clinch the playoff spot: • Buffalo vs Jets • New England vs Miami • Kansas City vs Raiders Of course, there's a huge amount of uncertainty between now and Week 18. Teams could rest starters, playoff races could change, and the matchups may look completely different. But that's precisely what makes preserving optionality so valuable. So what do you do this week instead of taking Houston? Two interesting alternatives are: • Cowboys -4.5 @ Eagles (-205 ML) • Jets -4.5 vs Miami (-225 ML) Despite identical point spreads, their moneylines imply slightly different outright win probabilities: Cowboys: 64.6% Jets: 66.4% Neither is nearly as safe as Houston this week. You're accepting a meaningfully higher probability of elimination today. But in exchange, you're preserving Houston for a potentially critical Week 18 matchup. And if you take the Jets, you're also preserving Dallas for its Week 11 matchup against Tennessee. The safest pick this week isn't necessarily the pick that maximizes your probability of winning the pool. If you're trying to finish first, you need to think several weeks ahead, account for future matchups, and be willing to accept calculated risks today to preserve valuable teams for tomorrow. Survivor isn't about maximizing your chance of surviving Week 7. It's about maximizing your chance of surviving Week 18. If you also like Survivor, check out @PlayWLS for new games like it.

A lot of people are talking about the eMudhra certificate compromise, but most of the explanations are pretty technical. Heres a plain English explanation of what happened, what it means for you, and what you should actually do. The short version: - Some digital certificates used to verify that websites and software are legitimate can no longer be trusted. - This could allow attackers to impersonate legitimate services, potentially making malicious connections or software appear trustworthy. - It doesnt mean all HTTPS is broken, but devices and applications that haven't received security updates may be vulnerable. What this means for the average person: - Public Wi-Fi: On vulnerable devices, attackers controlling a network could impersonate legitimate websites, potentially stealing passwords, payment information or private messages, even over HTTPS. - IoT devices: Smart cameras, routers and connected appliances may trust compromised certificates and accept fake server responses. Older devices that rarely receive security updates are especially concerning. - Online shopping: Vulnerable apps or browsers could be tricked into sending personal and payment information to an impersonating website. - Downloads: Compromised code-signing authorities could potentially allow malicious software to appear legitimately signed on systems that still trust them. What to do: - Update your browsers, operating systems, apps and IoT firmware. - Prefer cellular over unfamiliar public Wi-Fi until your devices are updated. - Never ignore certificate warnings or install unexpected software updates. - Replace unsupported IoT devices that no longer receive security patches. What this means for a business operator: - E-commerce: Attackers could impersonate payment processors, suppliers or other services, potentially intercepting customer data and transaction information. - APIs: Backend systems may accept fraudulent certificates and send sensitive data, API keys or authentication tokens to attackers. - IoT fleets: Devices with outdated certificate stores could be tricked into communicating with attacker-controlled servers. - Software distribution: Compromised code-signing certificates create additional risks for software authenticity and supply-chain security. What to do: - Update certificate trust stores across servers, containers, applications and devices. - Remove trust in affected certificates and verify revocation enforcement. - Audit API connections, software dependencies and IoT infrastructure. - Replace TLS certificates that chain to distrusted authorities where necessary. - Never disable certificate verification to fix connection errors. One important caveat: Major browsers have already deployed protections so update your browsers. The biggest concern is older software, IoT devices and infrastructure that doesn't receive timely updates.
The day the internet broke, and most of it is too old to fix.

This is like if everyone’s doors unlocked at the same time.
Not just PHP. Node.js has also announced security releases for October 21, with HIGH-severity vulnerabilities affecting its 26.x, 24.x and 22.x release lines. If you run either stack in production, keep an eye on official advisories and apply patches promptly. Security maintenance doesn't stop at your application code. Your runtime matters too.
