Ossoff: Abroad, American credibility and leadership are in decay, and the world is rearming for global conflict. And at our grave peril, humanity is fast forgetting the terrible lessons of two World Wars and the Holocaust.
Meanwhile, the titans of Silicon Valley dig bunkers for themselves and warn that the artificial intelligence they're creating risks human extinction.
And amidst these challenges of unprecedented consequence and complexity, though we rightly celebrate tonight's historic victory, the fact is weโve been too long mired in a small and selfish politics, bought by big money, unmoored from fixed moral principles, and resigned to intractable division.
In other words, the United States has been adrift in a gale.
But, Georgia, we can and will reclaim control over our own destiny.

I spent two years working with Stephen Miller.
His appointment as White House chief of staff is among the most dangerous personnel decisions in the history of our republic.
I say that without reservation.

๐จJUST IN: JB Pritzker says Stephen Miller will be investigated. Then he adds Trump to the list.
PRITZKER: โStephen Miller is awful.
It doesn't shock me that Donald Trump has chosen him to lead his White House. He's going be investigated, there's no doubt about it, both of them frankly, and rightly so.
We should expose the corruption of this administration, the most corrupt administration ever in the history of the United States.
We should be holding people accountable publicly.โ

So, let me flag a few things, traitor.
1. "European security architecture" is a phrase the Kremlin uses. We already have one: it's called NATO.
2. You conflate (as you always do) the victim of this war with the aggressor. The aggressor is Russia.
3. "Root causes" is Russian for "do it our way" and you know it.
4. Nothing a word about Russian withdrawal, the occupied territories, POWs or deported children. Weird.
5. Lavrov wrote this for you.
6. Fuck Putin, fuck Russia, and fuck you.
President Trump today advanced an important discussion with several European leaders about the need for a broader European security architecture that can help establish the conditions for lasting peace.
Building on his leadership and the substantive work undertaken this week in Brussels with Ukraine, NATO, and our European partners, @SEPeaceMissions and I wanted to share some of the objectives guiding our ongoing discussions.
For more than 30 years, Europe and Russia have struggled to establish a sustainable security framework. Decades of mistrust, competing security concerns, and the devastating consequences of this war make this an extraordinarily difficult challenge, but one that is essential to lasting peace.
Our objective is to develop practical arrangements that address the security concerns of all sides, reduce the risk of future conflict, and create a more stable and predictable security environment.
We are exploring five principal goals: permanent security consultations, reliable crisis communications, greater military transparency, reciprocal measures to reduce escalation risks, and an enduring framework for long-term European security and stability.
Any arrangements must fully respect the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independent decision-making of every nation. Each country will retain authority over its own security and alliances, and no country would have a veto over anotherโs sovereign choices. NATO will remain central to European collective defense, and this initiative would build upon existing institutions and commitments.
We will continue consultations through the Shell Bay format with Ukraine, NATO, the EU, and our European partners, expanding engagement to ensure that all relevant perspectives and ideas are considered. We will also engage Russia as part of the peace negotiations.
Next week in Abu Dhabi, the United States will convene the first trilateral peace discussions with Ukraine and Russia since February. All parties remain intensely engaged in preparing for substantive and productive negotiations. We will consult closely with our European partners on the sidelines and, if progress is made, aim to move toward a broader multilateral format with their direct participation.
These ideas continue to evolve, and we welcome thoughtful input. Creating the right structure will be critical to ending this war and transitioning from conflict toward conditions that make possible a durable peace.
This is difficult, detailed work. There are no easy solutions. But the opportunity to help end this devastating war and build a foundation for a more peaceful, secure, and prosperous Europe for generations to come makes it a challenge well worth undertaking.
We will see how these discussions develop and continue working intensively with all parties toward President Trumpโs objective of a comprehensive and lasting peace.

Thatcher was a political sociopath, but, probably because of her chemistry background, she got climate change...
Iโd like to mention Mrs Thatcher warning about man-made climate change being a threat as big as nuclear war, not because Iโm a fan of Mrs Thatcher, I canโt stand her, but I think itโs important that people on the right understand that climate change is not a left-wing conspiracy even though the fossil fuel propaganda says exactly that
I know someone who voted for Brexit because the UK state pension paled in comparison to that of other EU member states... #bbcqt
Gent in purple, "State pensioners who have contributed their whole lives are on a lot less than minimum wage"
"I'm very lucky to have a small German pension, and believe me, it's a lot more than what we pay in this country"
"Most of western Europe their pensions are much higher than the state pension in this country"
"I'm lucky I get a pension from the military"
"But people on the basic state pension, I reall feel sorry for them"
My view:
The full new State Pension is roughly ยฃ12,548 a year.
Someone working 37.5 hours a week on the ยฃ12.71 minimum wage earns about ยฃ24,785 before tax.
That puts the full new State Pension at barely half a full-time minimum-wage salary.
Government figures show that 12% of pensioner families received their income entirely from the State Pension and other state benefits in 2024/25.
That same year, around 1.7 million pensioners โ one in seven โ were living in relative poverty after housing costs.
A better pension means being able to heat your home, eat properly and see friends without calculating what youโll have to go without afterwards.
It also means money spent in the communities where pensioners live.
After a lifetime of working, caring and contributing, financial security should be something people can expect.
Perfect... ๐๐(h/t @MPrepuce)
