Have you ever wanted to build out resizable sections within a dashboard? the splitter from Ark (ark-ui.com) looks like a really powerful component to fast track your feature development

AI let mid-level engineers ship what used to need a senior. The productivity was real. The cost showed up later: code that worked but nobody fully understood, reviews that drifted into skimming, dependencies added because they were easy to generate. @jeprisk on what the speed boost actually costs, and how teams stay sharp from here. thinkmill.com.au/blog/what-e…

NEW POST: Secret knowledge to self-host @nextjs "It's easy to host!" "No it's not!" It seems no one can agree, so I've put together a mostly comprehensive post to settle this once and for all. The Problems: 🔴 Serverless Next.js is not officially supported outside Vercel 🔴 Server hosting via 'next start' is not production ready out of the box This article covers everything you need to escape Vercel. We started a new design system this week🌱 It was a great opportunity to review our process when building one from scratch. @JossMackison captured our thoughts as a series of questions and tooling choices you may find helpful when building your own💡 thinkmill.com.au/blog/design…

One thing in tech that i've always felt a little bit weird about is the use of the phrase "sparring" - I appreciate that it has been appropriated and isn't directly in reference to fighting but...

with an industry so dominated by males we need to go out of our way to level the playing field and the use of inclusive language is one way that we can do that.

I was a little reluctant to share this opinion and was wondering if I was overthinking it, so I asked our ol' friend ChatGPT what the hive mind thought. Surprise, surprise - boxing leans towards a male connotation if you agree with what ChatGPT spun out with this reply

This _should be_ my last office day in this room. We are getting the balustrade converted into a sliding door and fixing a drainage issue (note cut out carpet) ready to welcome our daughter into her own room. I’ll be moving next door into a multi-use room.

Nike will no longer run ecommerce in NZ 🤯 not that I really care but… I wonder the influencing factors in this decision, surely the overhead of running a online presence isn’t that high - they literally have brick and mortar stores here. Lots of companies use 3rd party distro
