This seems like a great time to reshare my favourite Sir Patrick Stewart performance, ‘What has the ECHR ever done for us?’ It’s just perfect in every possible way … including the ending 😂😂😂 RIP.

Giving £10 billion to Ukraine in the UK budget in a year when living standards for ordinary people are dropping again significantly,
is an act of hubris that I think has finally broken public support.

£10,000,000,000 for war in Ukraine, though.

For a Labour Chancellor to declare during a Scrooge Budget in which a painful year is promised to his own people that he had “made the day” of a foreign leader by handing him an EXTRA £10 Billion desperately needed at home is such a cognitive dissonance as to be scarcely believable. That NOBODY in the House protested renders it a rubber-stamp assembly of a kind simply unrecognisable to a long-standing parliamentarian like me.

It's amazing how the "welfare budget is out of control" people aren't asking the chancellor where £10 billion for Ukraine is coming from

The total amount that every UK taxpayer has sent to Ukraine over the last three years now averages out at over £1,000 each.
I am sure none of you needed that money, nor public services.

This budget was a betrayal of our future; the Labour government chose protecting corporate profits over people and planet.

Corporate Welfare
Tory tax break for banks cost UK public purse £6bn
In 2023 Tory govt cut the bank surcharge from 8% to 3%. Current govt hasn't reversed it. Record profits, exec pay, dividends at banks
Reversing the surcharge would raise billions.

If physician associates are able to train in "medicine" and are magically able to see patients independently in two years - why does it take doctors 5 to 6 years medical degree and 10 years postgraduate training before achieving independence?
We have to decide whether we want a safe healthcare service delivered by fully trained doctors or go back to a free for all where anyone can practice medicine with a cursory level of knowledge/ training and do away with medical degrees / medical training
It's like living in a parallel universe where simultaneously you need over 15 years of training to be considered safe as a doctor but anyone else can do a simple course and get stuck in.
Allowing physician assistants to see undifferentiated patients would be irresponsible and poorly evidenced, says @TheBMA's Tom Dolphin
He warns that vague guidelines on supervision fail to address the safety concerns that have been repeatedly raised

If you actually want Labour to do anything about this, vote for Zack Polanski and the Green Party tomorrow in Holborn and St. Pancras. 🟢
EXC - Bleak new forecasts from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation suggest soaring energy and housing costs mean Labour could be set to preside over the worst parliament for living standards in modern history
