Arguably the greatest Toledoan. Build the space academy on Lake Erie in the home of the Rockets.
Everything we do at @NASA better pass the “What would Gene Kranz think of this?” test... and that is going to be especially important as we build the Mission Control of the Future to manage operations in LEO, the Moon Base and Beyond.

As a non political consultant who has political consultant friends, it's a fun time of year talking to people who you haven't seen in months and making fun of them for how fat they got during the campaign.
the amount of political consultants at the end of the campaign who are actually bored and not doing much is way more than you'd think

Bobby Vans (the steakhouse on 15th, not the Grill on New York Ave) is creeping onto my list of top DC Steakhouses. Absolutely elite staff top to bottom. The Dezenhall team adores these people. Food pretty good too. Possible top 5

Bit of a rough day. Sitting here eating carbonara and reading a book and missing home. Then the teenage daughter shifts the whole vibe with four words

The Washington Post reveals that World Trade Center security executive Rick Rescorla rescued nearly 2,700 people during the September 11 attacks before dying in the attacks. He is certainly the hero of the day, as hundreds of survivors step forward to corroborate that he continuously went back into the building to pull more people out.

Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to speak at my local community board meeting. Fortunately the folks who did speak out in saving the exercise bars at Tompkins Square were all excellent and compelling. Here’s what I would have said had I gotten the chance.

The biggest stories don’t always make the news. 🤔 Susan and I gave $6.25 billion to help 25 million American children build brighter futures. These handwritten thank-you notes mean more than any headline ever could. 25 million children. 25 million futures. Endless possibilities. ❤️🇺🇸

If you are in the Toledo area and not attending @ToledoRockets football games you are seriously missing out. There is a very good D1 college football program in your backyard. Nov 11 we start weekday MACtion games with a national audience. See you at the Glass Bowl.

It’s going to be a damn shame if we lose The Blade. There are local folks trying hard to save it.

Word of advice for younger readers coming from a place of love: when your parents get the most emotionally/irrationally angry at you, it’s usually because they see you mimicking some flaw they see in themselves that they swore they wouldn’t let show up in you.
