If this is happening to you, you're doing it wrong. This is like saying that your hammer is bad at screwing in screws. But why does this "nothing is really happening" happen? A few reasons. 1. The difficult part is now getting users, sales and marketing. The difficult part used to be the building but now that that's the easy part, products and features are easy to produce so we feel like we're accomplishing something. And we are. Sort of. Because, of course, products and features are for people, and that getting people is the hard part. And once you've built 50 things with no one using it, you feel like "nothing is really happening". 2. Tech/AI is a walled in castle, a self-contained ecosystem where many people are building very similar, slight permutations and improvements on each others products. The feeling of "something is actually happening" with ai most acutely felt when either real problems are being solved or you move out of tech and apply ai to the 99% of business that aren't tech: schools, brick and morter, small to midsize manufacturing, etc. When you use ai to solve problems outside the insular world of tech, you feel the literal opposite of "nothing is really happening".
There’s 100% a kind of mania you can get into with coding agents, where it feels like you’re getting a lot done and working all the time but nothing is really happening. I think it's often a form of avoidance of something else in life.

Absolutely. And the cure for this is restraint. Slow down, don't go as fast as you can. Slow down by 20%, consider the system, the tools, the context. Have a learning session. Consider alternatives. Trust your human gut.

New Rule: You're allowed to show A. You're allowed to show B. You're not allowed to show A + B
it is beyond my understanding why anyone would put aa index on a model launch card (and label it as a benchmark). that’s like the ultimate red flag and slop signal. google has lost it.

Labs can of course benchmaxx. But that's just as bad as trashing models without evidence. At least benchmaxxing is actually improving the model.

I'm still long Google.
Better ones are coming.

Claude is amazing at coding. Claude is terrible for writing. Most of my job is - Being amazed at Claude coding - Fixing Claude writing Tip: Use Google models for writing and reference writing you like or writing manuals like Strunk and White's Elements of Style.

Mike is the only one of you jokers touching grass and tokenmaxxing at the same time.
so google maps sent the delivery driver down the wrong way and he got stuck on a dirt road, had to take the tractor and pull him out the mud then forklift the 42U to the farm 😂 in other news, it has arrived 🥹

Wake up in the morning... all credits gone. claude:
We’re opening a research preview of Claude Duet, a new app where Claude works as a proactive agent. It comes to you with what needs your attention, completes tasks you ask of it, keeps working when you step away, and checks with you before it acts on your behalf.

I assure you, you don't need advice from the medium distribution of all the text on the internet. Call your Dad.
This is bad for humankind as a whole X 0head take> "BUT PRIME, THINK ABOUT THE LONELY PEOPLE" This will only serve to create a greater chasm betwixt the lonely and the rest. This will create an entire lonelier generation. AI's super danger is that it creates in you more and more selfish longings whether you realize it or not. This shit is dangerous and evil.

Best people who have carried on the "I'm dumb" (but they're actually geniuses) bit for the longest: - Norm Macdonald - Nathan Fielder

Models that have survived multiple model release cycles: - Opus 5.5 - GPT Image 2/2.5 - Gemini Flash Omni (editing)
