Pope Leo XIV has submitted a mail-in ballot for the US midterms, becoming the first pope to vote in a US election and likely the first to vote in a secular democratic election. cnn.it/48oMrTh

The literal Pope getting to cast a vote in the same Chicago suburb where I went to theatre cast parties is still so funny to me.

Never realized until this rewatch that First Contact’s “Star Trek” title drop is basically a predecessor to the “some kind of Suicide Squad” line.

Was halfway through the TBG episode “Who Watches the Watchers?” before Stewart passed away; resumed watching it and found myself getting emotional even at this straight-forward scene of him trying to convince someone that he is mortal by explaining evolution. Just no other equal.

This scene is how I learned that “John” was another term for toilet.
RIP Sir Patrick Stewart. Always the first person to come to mind when I think "Shakespearean actor". Whether he was playing someone serious or silly, his performance would always grab my attention

Looks like this got quite the boost from those 4DX screenings, increasing +13% from Tuesday when all the other wide releases dropped 22-36%.

Patrick Stewart’s Picard is one of the great TV performances of all time. It took awhile for the show to catch up with how great he was. No matter what material he was given, he was always elevating it.

Netflix has spent the last 10 years trying to render movie theaters obsolete. i wrote about why they failed, why they gave up, and why abandoning their holy war on exhibition could save the struggling company from becoming obsolete itself. indiewire.com/features/comme…

Don’t be surprised if Monkeybone becomes the Best Picture front runner soon. I think people are seriously underestimating how much this movie is going to connect with audiences including academy voters.
