Gym situation is the biggest downside of living in Vietnam.
It’s expensive, under-equipped boutique gyms or overcrowded local gyms with old equipment that’s falling apart.
If I was single, I’d move to Thailand for better gyms.

I’m replacing my QR payments from Mercado Pago to @yodlpay just because it has a better iOS shortcut.
Most are used to double-click and open the card wallet, but when in Argentina it’s better a QR payment but it’s a pain:
- unblock the phone
- search the app (MP, Peanut, ARQ, etc)
- wait until it loads
- click in the QR button
- scan
- review and pay
The cool thing about the shortcut is I press it while looking at it and it pays automatically when it opens.
This account is mind melting. One of my favorite finds on X.
The scrambled eggs at a hotel breakfast are 19% water, and they're dyed.
A lot of hotels and cafeterias pour them from a carton of Papetti's Breakfast Blend. The spec sheet reads whole eggs, 19% water, then under 2% of salt, xanthan gum, citric acid, annatto color and natural butter flavor. Papetti's is part of Michael Foods, one of the biggest egg processors in the country.
Every ingredient has a job on a steam table. Xanthan gum holds the added water in the egg so it doesn't weep into the pan. Citric acid keeps the eggs from turning gray or green under a heat lamp. Annatto puts back the yolk color the water washed out. The butter flavor is there because nobody is going to add butter. The carton keeps for 98 days in the cooler.
The plain version from the same company is whole eggs, whey, skim milk, xanthan and citric acid, with almost no added water and half the sodium.

Day 1 of @arbitrum Founder House Singapore is insane - brought in a great mix of speakers sharing and got to meet a lot of hidden gems in the Arbitrum and @robinhoodcrypto ecosystem.
1. Big Intro by @aditichoprax and @Swagtimus
2. Distribution from @vibegrower from @Quicknode and @ayobuenavista from @pendle_fi : one story stood out to me - pendle spent first 3 years without meaningful pmf (very humble) but they ran different experiments and finally popped off during the eigenlayer period. Another thing is try to go for recurring users, don't focus on one time users who use your product once and go away, try to look for the ones who stay using your product.
3. Figure out your wedge by @zklumi at offchain : focus on a small subset of target user, and a small pain point in a small market, don't go for massive markets. Get validation from your first 5-10 users and really understand their pain point and workflows.
4. @0x_allan from offchain: using the example of akash , have a clear price advantage over AWS, go to discord, forums, github, x, to see what people are saying, tag the user who has a pain point, go through as many workflows of competitors or identical products as possible, pay attention to each interface, walk a mile, try not to outsource to ai agent for this, really understand each process step to step.
5. Mentorship session with two omega chads @Swagtimus @zkLumi
6. Some of the early gems i'm seeing:
- @yodlpay : pay with stablecoins or even robinhood stock tokens IRL across philipines, vietnam, and a couple other SEA and LATAM countries
- @atoma_fi : market neutral yields
- @PoPoMeMe3000 : launchpad that helps you go viral with ai clips across tiktok and social media
- @CallPutApp : option dex for tokenized stocks
- @owndotmoney : stablecoin backed by stock tokens
- @exchequerfi : preferred token to protect downside
- @lptokenfun : trade lp tokens
- @clashofperps : gamefi perp dex reward farming
- @ggdotxyz : social trading app
- @CyreneAI : tokenizing pre-ipo stocks and stock basket tokens
Taking a lot of this back to @zona_io . Excited for Day 2
Vietnam is a great option for Solana builders: massive crypto-native population, low cost of living, great food. Easy to travel anywhere in Asia in a few hours.
Was a pleasure to meet Solana teams:
@lpagent_io
@yodlpay
@gopaymoji
@opendex_ws
@Mermailapp
@OnePlan_Travel
@polarislabxyz
@BasalPay_App
+ others (sorry if I forgot!)
Massive shoutout to @SuperteamVN, and many thanks to @LynnWWins, @dieubui2522, and @LavieTran214 for being wonderful hosts in Vietnam.
Hope to be back soon!
Most people I know who always feel stressed and overwhelmed manage their time poorly.
Always manic, running late.
Me, three young kids, two dogs, 50–60-hr workweeks, 12 hrs/ week at the gym, plus friend time.
Never stressed.
All comes down to systems and time management.
Claude Opus 5.5 is the GOAT for design.
Consistency sets it apart. Nailing fundamentals: vertical rhythm, type scale, contrast, repetition.
That’s why “taste” is so misunderstood.
What they’re seeing is craft: iteration and polish - 4px that fixes the rhythm, pixel perfect spacing, the fifth pass nobody asked for.
Craft > taste.
Still needs a designer’s eye: spot what’s off, name it, and push for another pass.
Singapore has first world infrastructure.
However, data connectivity has been miserable.
@sailyworld e-sim has been awful. Unusable. Will never use again.
Free/ hotel internet, painfully slow.
Looking forward to first-world connectivity back in Vietnam. 🇻🇳
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Singapore consistently ranks at or near the top globally for internet speeds, with fixed broadband medians exceeding 600 Mbps and strong mobile performance. Experiences with specific eSIM providers or hotel WiFi do not represent the country's infrastructure.
