Trump promised lower energy bills on Day 1. That never happened. Now Blakeman is making the same empty promise. New Yorkers deserve more than political gimmicks. Governor Hochul is delivering real relief and taking on data centers driving up energy costs. That’s leadership.
While Governor @KathyHochul signed a nation-leading moratorium on big data centers jacking up utility costs, Bruce Blakeman wants them in your backyard.

Regardless of what ICE claims happened in Marble Hill, the bottom line remains the same: ICE has no business in our communities. Trump’s immigration crackdown has created a climate of fear and violence, and we are paying the price. I stand with our immigrant neighbors. ICE OUT.

I come from a family that's spent decades fighting for New Yorkers, and I know what real leadership looks like. @TishJames has shown it time and again as Attorney General. Proud to stand with her tonight. #AGDebate2026
Tomorrow night on @NY1, @TishJames takes the debate stage. The People's Lawyer. Her record. Her plan. Tune in. youtube.com/watch?v=_qbzWbwX…

Harlem families know what it's like to be squeezed; rent that won't quit, paychecks that don't cover the basics, and now federal immigration actions tearing at our communities.  @TishJames has fought back on every front and won. That’s why I’m proud to stand with her.
My love letter to New York.

Was proud to stand with HTC on this picket line! Big shout out to my siblings in labor on the win!
After 47 long days on the picket line, we are thrilled to announce a contract for our members at the Fairfield Inn and Four Points Times Square! Workers who started this fight nearly 4 years ago will receive more than $50,000 in back pay each, immediate wage increases of between $10-15 per hour, free family health care, retirement benefits and more. We are so grateful for the thousands of members, elected officials, and supporters who stood with us through 100 degree weather, rain storms, and wildfire smoke to make this victory possible!

New York is home to the nation’s finest public higher education system. To every Howard University student whose education has been disrupted, the doors to SUNY and CUNY are wide open.

Not surprising, but still incredibly disappointing. Do better @NYYRC
On May 19, an X user with the handle basedredford wrote, “It’s literally a historic FACT that your society will thrive when you kick the Jews out of town.” The user was fond of the phrases “Shut up, Jew” and “Jewish run account,” and reposted images of Hitler and antisemitic caricatures. In one post, it accused Texas senator Ted Cruz of being an “Israel first goy slave.” The basedredford account, which was public, also made numerous posts filled with slurs about gay people and Black Americans. The account appears to have belonged to Nicholas T. Rafael Jr., the now-former treasurer of the New York Young Republican Club. Three former members of the club confirmed Rafael’s connection to the account, which years ago posted to a Vine account tied to his name and appeared to be followed by nearly a dozen current members of the club as well as the club’s official X account and its Queens caucus account. When reached by phone, Rafael denied that the social-media account was his. He also suggested over email that the picture of him in Nazi regalia was “obviously doctored.” A lawyer representing the NYYRC also denied that the club had any association with the account but noted that it was “investigating” the photograph. In recent years, the club’s choices in leadership, programming, and endorsements appear to show a sharp shift toward far-right politics, and according to former members of the club, the driving force has been Stefano Forte, a Queens native elected president of the NYYRC in 2025. One former NYYRC board member, who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of retaliation, said that Forte had cultivated an edgelord atmosphere within the club, where members freely voiced aggressive Groyper-style political views. Another former member who served in its leadership said Forte was responsible for turning it into a “den of incels” who mistakenly believed their brand of racist, misogynist politics has a sizable constituency. I am heartbroken at this act of senseless violence, that has resulted in a loss of life last night at King Towers. My office has been in touch with the 28 precinct. My condolences are with the family who have lost a loved one, and I pray for a speedy recovery to those wounded.

As summer kicks off, HTC will be fighting for the wages and benefits they deserve. Proud to fight with our hardworking hospitality workers that make NYC the greatest city in the world.
The NYC hotel industry is launching a $500k ad campaign ahead of their contract expiring with our union. A representative for the hotel industry reportedly “raged” over our “cushy” union contract in an attempt to build sympathy for billionaire hotel owners and international corporations. The truth? Nothing about hotel work is cushy. It's back-breaking work, done by hardworking New Yorkers who are trying to survive in an unaffordable city. SupportHotelWorkers.com

Grateful to meet w/ @UAW members who work at Columbia alongside @jordanjgwright. We discussed pushing scientific boundaries and creating jobs by expanding NY’s biotech investments. I also shared my work advocating for survivors of Robert Hadden at Columbia.

Ellie never should have been taken. Let’s build a world where innocent New Yorkers can live their daily lives without the debilitating fear of being violently abducted from their homes by a modern-day gestapo army that acts with impunity.
Just got off the phone with President Trump. In our meeting earlier, I shared my concerns about Columbia student Elmina Aghayeva, who was detained by ICE this morning. He has just informed me that she will be released imminently.

I’m in Harlem with @CMYusefSalaam and @jordanjgwright distributing hot meals to residents ahead of the storm. Thanks to @rethinkfood, we’re delivering nearly 1,500 meals to New Yorkers across the city today. Please stay indoors if you can, stay safe, and visit council.nyc.gov/snow for resources.
