i wanted to step up and address everything that’s been going on recently, especially as a person with a fan account dedicated to martin. as someone who deeply loves and will forever support martin and cortis, i feel a real responsibility to speak on this topic directly and transparently without brushing anything under the rug.
first, to be completely transparent, i want to acknowledge upfront that i am not black. as someone outside of the community, it’s not my place to speak over black fans or dictate how anyone should feel. however, i feel it’s important to use my platform to highlight why being educated on the use of aave (african american vernacular english) matters. aave is a distinct dialect with deep cultural and historical roots, and when it is used carelessly or treated as casual internet slang, it can easily come across as offensive and disrespectful. education around this is necessary, and it’s something our fandom needs to take seriously.
that being said, this situation should not be weaponized as an opportunity to push blind hate, nor should it be used by antis to fuel fan wars or prove petty points. holding people accountable and wanting them to learn is about genuine growth, not tear-downs or malicious agenda-pushing.
it is also critical to recognize that this isn’t an isolated issue centered around martin alone. the whole group needs to be educated on cultural sensitivity and language awareness. placing the spotlight solely on one member ignores the broader picture, and it’s unfair to act like he’s the only one who needs to learn and do better.
on a personal note, it has been really exhausting and upsetting to watch martin constantly singled out for extreme hate. targeted negativity toward him is slowly becoming normalized within this fandom, and that is something i refuse to stay silent on or accept as normal behavior. constructive critique and education are essential, but targeted harassment aimed at one person under the guise of accountability is not okay.
my love and support for martin and cortis will never change, and wanting them to be educated comes from a place of wishing the absolute best for them as they grow. i hope we can move forward by focusing on actual education, holding the entire group accountable equally, and rejecting the normalized hostility that’s been directed at martin. let’s handle serious topics with the maturity and respect they deserve.

COERs! If a situation doesn’t concern you please don’t get involved. It’ll save everyone a lot of misunderstandings and unnecessary drama. And if you do wanna speak on it at least take the time to actually understand what’s going on first…. Pls guys 🙏🏾
speak on something that’s concerning to us. all we’re trying to do is to get martin to tone it down and stop using a blaccent because i would rather have black coers call out this stuff before it gets outside the fandom aka black twt
how is coertwt so anti-black, when black people have helped and been able to set up cortis for success and have influenced them time and time again? AND WE KNOW THIS?! i’m struggling to understand why yall are choosing to be so ignorant bro it’s so frustrating 😭
