I'm not an alarmist by nature, but this is really, really bad. I would have hoped the CVE was given to device manufactures well before this was made public. A lot of routers run Linux in firmware, so could be vunerable too. My hosting service hasn't update the kernel yet, so it is vunerable too

Dago guys really used to use this field. It was occupied daily. I wonder what all those people and kids do now in the evenings and weekends.

Great to see the Gujarat government has set 2 m as the minimum clear width for footpaths. Now over to @AmdavadAMC to put this into practice.
A paradigm shift indeed! Now it is time for consultants, engineers, bureaucrats and politicians to follow this in letter and spirit. It's time to walk the talk, Gujarat!

All of the AirBnB drama boils down to the fact that hosts are running a >>norm arbitrage scheme to get better margin<<: Hosts deliberately conflate two sets of norms: 1) socially, you're a treasured friend/family who tidies up after himself. 2) commercially, you're a customer who paid for housekeeping. As a paying guest, you get the obligations of the first and the invoice of the second. It has always bugged me. No bueno.

Can we PLEASE normalize just hanging out at each other’s houses again? Why does every friendship meetup need to be a whole production, a restaurant reservation, and a $150 bill? I just want to sit on your couch, drink something, and talk for hours.

"We have not asked to pay a shilling less than that number. We have asked that what the State owes us be applied to what we owe the State. It is the same Republic on both sides of the ledger.

AI is getting cheaper more quickly than any other transformative tech in history. At a given level of performance, cost has fallen ~47%/quarter since 2023. That’s 4× faster than DNA sequencing, 6× faster than compute, 18× faster than lithium batteries, and (up to 1973) 54× faster than electricity.

People in tax policy and finance - in a business environment — such as this one — with low trust, decreasing velocity of money and an inflexible tax authority - isn’t withholding tax, where KRA expects the actual money from the supplier, detrimental to a business’ working capital?

We turn it into security, operational, and commercial intelligence, starting with our flagship product, TelemetriX, which filters and routes that signal to the tools already doing the work — SIEMs, data lakes, and the teams behind them. Deep signal. Clear intelligence.

All proteins degrade quite quickly. Never understood people that order sirloin/tomahawk steaks on a date/biz meal...with lots of convo. Steak has an ~8 minute half-life. The piece of steak you eat after 8 minutes is considerably worse than the first bite. Sizzle plate helps.
Nyama choma loses its flavour once you decide to do a take away.
