GOOD DAY, MR PRESIDENT: NIGERIANS DESERVE ACCOUNTABILITY Good day, Mr President. I congratulate you on spending a night in one of Nigeria’s states outside Lagos and Abuja. I hope you enjoyed the warmth, hospitality, and delicious cuisine of Akwa Ibom, which I am sure is even better than those of the destinations where you have spent over 260 days outside Nigeria since coming into office. I sincerely hope this visit will inspire you to travel to the remaining 33 states of the federation, spend time with the people and, more importantly, explain what your administration has done with the ₦15.8 trillion saved from the removal of fuel subsidy, the over $100 billion you have borrowed, the increased revenues accruing to the government from taxing Nigerians, and the additional government revenues which your administration celebrated last year as having surpassed its target. Nigerians deserve to know how many that were pulled out of poverty within this period, how many out-of-school children were returned to school, and how many functional primary healthcare centres you have built. They also deserve to know how much electricity supply has improved, especially given your promise that if you do not fix power, Nigerians should not vote for you. They deserve an explanation of how you have secured the country, which still ranks among the most terrorised countries in the world. Mr President, Nigerians deserve answers. They deserve to know what has been done with the resources entrusted to your government. The New Nigeria we want to build will be based on accountability, transparency, and the physical, measurable impact of our public resources on the lives of citizens. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

You know what to do. The thugs should be warned to stop all thuggery activities. NDC and their candidates will not tolerate nonsense this election period.
DELTA STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE DELTA STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE CLASH AT A POLITICAL RALLY ORGANIZED BY OBEDIENT/OK MOVEMENT IN SUPPORT OF PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE OF NDC IN ASABA: POLICE COMMENCE INVESTIGATION, ADVISE POLITICAL PARTIES/SUPPORTERS AGAINST ROAD PROCESSIONS The Delta State Police Command has commenced a full-scale investigation into a violent incident involving supporters during a political rally organised by the Obedient/OK movement in support of the presidential candidate of Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Asaba on Saturday, 7th November 2026, which resulted in the death of one person and injuries to five others. 2. Prior to the rally, the Command received an intelligence report indicating the likelihood of violence and consequently invited the organisers to a security meeting. During the engagement, they were briefed on the identified security threats and advised against holding an open road procession. They were further encouraged to conduct their political activities at a designated venue where appropriate security will be provided for them. However, the organisers ignored this important security advice and proceeded with the road procession. 3. At about 1215hrs, a violent incident occurred along Nnebisi Road, Asaba, during which one person lost his life and five others sustained injuries. The identities of the victims are yet to be ascertained. Upon receiving a distress call, police operatives mobilised to the scene and took the injured victims to the hospital for medical attention. Security was subsequently reinforced in the affected area to forestall further breakdown of law and order, while investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible. 4. The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Samuel E. Erale, psc, mnips, condemns the violence and reiterates that political parties are free to conduct lawful campaigns and other political activities. He, however, advises all political parties and their supporters to avoid road processions in the interest of public safety and to liaise with the Police ahead of any political gatherings to facilitate adequate security arrangements. The CP assures residents of Delta State of the Command's commitment to a thorough and impartial investigation and urge anyone with useful information to contact the Command through the following phone numbers; 09155570008 or 09155570007. I am profoundly saddened and deeply disturbed by reports of violence directed at members and coordinators of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Obidient Movement in Delta State. I unequivocally condemn the attacks against our coordinators, supporters, and fellow citizens who were merely exercising their democratic rights. Political violence has no place in a democracy and can never be justified. No political aspiration is worth the life of a Nigerian, and no dispute should be resolved through intimidation, physical attacks, or the destruction of property. It is particularly troubling that, at a time when Nigeria urgently needs responsible leadership, some individuals continue to believe that political influence can be secured through thuggery, fear, and violence. Political authority should be attained through persuasion and the trust of the people, not by intimidating opponents. I urge the Government and the security agencies to conduct an immediate and thorough investigation into these attacks, identify those responsible, and ensure that they face justice, irrespective of their political affiliations. The safety and security of our members must be assured. We will not be intimidated or silenced, nor will we relinquish our democratic space to violence. Our response will remain peaceful, lawful, and determined. Nigeria belongs to every one of us. No political party or individual has exclusive ownership of the democratic space. Every Nigerian is entitled to organise, gather, express their views, and freely elect their leaders. Our nation needs constructive ideas rather than intimidation, responsible leadership rather than thuggery, and democratic contest rather than political violence. I stand in solidarity with everyone affected in Delta State. A New Nigeria must be founded on justice, liberty, peace, and respect for the dignity of every citizen. May God bless Delta State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria. -PO

There is something I have been thinking deeply about, and I believe Nigeria urgently needs to have this conversation. Why do we spend 16 years educating people only to graduate them into a labour market where nobody wants to hire them? Who exactly are we educating them for? In advanced economies, employers and industries play significant roles in shaping education because they understand the skills the market needs. But in Nigeria, how much influence do the people who actually create jobs have over what our children are taught? We keep producing graduates and then blaming them for being unemployable. But who designed the education that produced them? Shouldn’t the people who create jobs have a decisive voice in determining what our schools teach? This is something I intend to push strongly in the South East. Education must respond to the economy, anticipate future industries and equip young people to create value, not merely collect certificates. Are we educating our children for the world that exists, the world that is coming, or a world that no longer exists?
