Washington's secretary of state says a "preliminary investigation" of the list DOJ sent to the state confirms it includes U.S. citizens and also people who are not registered to vote or have "inactive" status and would not have been sent a ballot sos.wa.gov/about-office/news…

"If the Executive can discount votes and threaten an ongoing election due to unproven allegations, then our democracy is in danger." — Judge David O. Carter, the first federal judge to observe that Trump likely committed crimes in his assault on the 2020 election. buff.ly/hSDF7SA

The Trump regime's claims that 20,000 'likely" noncitizens received ballots in California "are not credible," the judge notes. The original claim was 200,000 in California, and the Nevada numbers collapsed upon scrutiny, he notes.

In REJECTING the Trump DOJ's request to sideline 20,000 California ballots, Judge David O. Carter calls it out as part of "a broad, ongoing pattern of attempted election interference by federal officials." Doc buff.ly/hSDF7SA

In the wake of the NYT exposé, the Trump DOJ quickly capitalizes on the story in the Alaska litigation, signaling plans to seek "expedited discovery" into the "sprawling conspiracy." It previously opposed Peltola's campaign and DSCC's intervention in the case, but now it doesn't. Doc buff.ly/qcDVQm2

It’s not illegal unless there are campaign finance violations involved, like in the case of an ex-Florida lawmaker convicted of paying a man named Alex Rodriguez to be a “ghost candidate” & siphon votes from Democrat Jose Javier Rodriguez, who lost in 2020 by 32 votes
This is election rigging and it is illegal.

No it's not. Two years ago, Republicans backed a candidate serving a 20 year prison sentence named Eric Hafner to hurt Mary Peltola when she lost her seat in the House. “Lock them up” - but first, get them on the ballot.

The Trump DOJ is 0-27 in voter roll litigation—and has taken giant swings and a mostly unbroken record of misses in other farcical election lawsuits. Trump lost 60+ lawsuits in his 2020 election subversion scheme. The purpose then, and now, of Trump’s abuse of the legal process wasn’t rights and remedies but to spread election misinformation, sow baseless distrust, and prime the pump for more radical election subversion of results he wants to overturn. At some point, these election gambits lose all credibility, and the views of legal commentators who treat these stunts as presumptively serious and legitimate can be safely disregarded. That point was long ago.
Did you miss the part about him "suing"? Isn't that the way rights and remedies are supposed to be pursued in our system of government? Maybe he loses. But what if he wins?

An illustration of the rule: The most outrageous and malodorous Trump prosecutions and lawsuits are led by the political leadership. AUSAs from the local districts or lawyers from relevant divisions largely won’t touch them.
5 names on Comey CHARGES: 1) Trent McCotter, Blanche's no. 2 2) Aakash Singh, McCotter's deputy 3) Patrick Hopple, DHS official 4) Dustin Farahnak, fed prosecutor from Texas 5) Justin Silverberg, a fed prosecutor from Florida. 0 from the natsec/public integrity units.

The "F.A." in Essayli's title is short for "Fake-Ass" U.S. Attorney, now that a federal judge has reiterated that he's holding his office illegally. buff.ly/G7YtOHT

Essayli has no democratic legitimacy. He’s never been confirmed by the Senate. He was disqualified as a US Attorney, and his current title is a legal fiction—an assistant to an empty seat. He’s a Trump stooge clinging to power to interfere with elections till his appeals lapse.
Just so there’s no confusion, today’s order is stayed and has no immediate effect. I remain First Assistant U.S. Attorney and continue running the office. The Supreme Court will ultimately decide this matter.
