ELECTION 2026: Former Vice President @KamalaHarris is in Sacramento today. She made an appearance at a phone banking event for 6th Congressional District candidate @DrPanMD (D-Sacramento). During her remarks, Harris criticized Pan’s opponent, Rep. @KevinKileyCA (I-Rocklin). Harris said she does not believe Kiley, who changed his registration from Republican to independent earlier this year, is a true independent. I will have reaction from Kiley. Harris added she believes the race between Pan and Kiley is very close. She also criticized President Donald Trump. Below is a portion of Harris’ remarks. More to come.

Interesting conversation with Democratic strategist @EdEmerson1 and Republican strategist @TimRosales on this weekend’s @CaliforniaICP about Gov. @GavinNewsom saying he will not run for president in 2028 if @KamalaHarris runs. “I don’t buy it,” Emerson said. “I think Newsom runs regardless [of Harris].” Rosales, meanwhile, believes Newsom will keep his word, but says if Newsom does run, “he needs to run as far away from his California record as possible.” Emerson defended Newsom’s record. ELECTION 2028: California Gov. @GavinNewsom says he will *not* run for president in 2028 if Kamala Harris runs then. “I wouldn’t run if she ran,” Newsom said during an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper. Tapper: “If she runs, you would not?” Newsom: “Of course not. Why would I? It wouldn’t be right to her…I wouldn’t waste everyone’s time.”
