(Confessional) Priest: What are your sins? Me: There's a priest on Twitter I don't follow. Priest: (sighs heavily) That's a mortal sin, son.

Hilarious!
Voted straight GOP. Nevertheless, I, for one, welcome our new Democrat overlords. And I'd like to remind them that as a trusted Substacker, I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underground child-transition caves. youtube.com/watch?v=8lcUHQYh…

This is a good primer on the different kinds of pronouncements you hear from Catholic leadership. I highly recommend it for my Protestant friends.
Our new article offers a clear framework for distinguishing dogma and definitive doctrine from ordinary teaching and prudential judgments. Catholics can read encyclicals and the Catechism with precision rather than confusion by applying these concepts 👇

The Community Notes on this is just brutal. I am never deleting this app.
Replying to @MayorofLondon
Let me be absolutely clear: anyone who targets Londoners because of their faith will be held to account. I'll continue working with the Met Police and partners to tackle faith-based hate crime, such as Islamophobia, protect our communities and ensure there is zero tolerance for this kind of prejudice in our city.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan… 4 men were recorded chanting antisemitic slurs threatening murder and rape. The vehicle was tracked and the occupants arrested. Despite all of the evidence, the case was dropped by the CPS. They targeted Londoners based on their faith. They were not held to account.

This is brilliant.
Working at Oculus would have been an utter waste of my time except for one thing. While I was there, I realized what's wrong with leftists. Not that they have been programmed, that's obvious. Not why they have been programmed. For power, that's obvious, too. But how they have been programmed. The exact method that their moral compass has been destroyed works like this: Target a bunch of people with very few deeds and accomplishments, such as young people or incompetent people, or incompetent young people. Create for them an environment where they are rewarded with moral approval, not for what they do, but for believing certain ideas. The ideas don't have to be outrageous, or absurd, or have anything to do with what you actually need them to believe. In fact, it's better to start with something innocuous. Why? Because the goal isn't to install those beliefs at all. The goal is to repeat this process until you create a person who measures his moral worth by what he believes, not what he does. Keep at this until you have created a mass of people who not only reward themselves with a feeling of moral superiority for believing the right things, but who will reward each other for believing orthodox things, and who will compete with each other, not to do the most good, but to have the most orthodox beliefs. Now, change one of the propositions you have programmed them with to a slightly more radical version of itself, and hold this up as a more correct version of the old belief, which has been newly discovered by scholarly investigations into culture and moral philosophy. Sit back, watch, and give them a few weeks to compete with each other to adopt the new belief, and to condemn the "evil" of anyone who believes the old belief, the very thing they believed last month. Repeat this process until they are used to rapidly changing their entire belief system in response to an external cue. Congratulations, you have a population of entirely programmable people whose moral compass is not just broken, but entirely non-existent. They don't care what any person in front of them actually does. Only that he believe the orthodox thing, which they just learned about in last week's memo. They are willing to do anything, so long as it is done in support of their current belief system, which can be replaced whenever it's convenient to do so. They are willing to burn down an entire city with no qualms whatsoever if they are doing it in support of the idea that black lives matter. They are willing to murder a man in front of his children, and it doesn't matter if his actions were entirely peaceful and good, because all that matters to them is whether he believes the correct things or not. And a man who builds cheap spaceflight for the human race, develops viable electric cars to save the environment, restores voices to the voiceless, and plans, for his next trick, to heal the blind... well, all those are deeds, so none of them matter. The only thing that matters is that he told people to vote republican once, which is wrongthink. So what you have a horde of communist zombies, who can be steered to shuffle in any direction and attack the living, eat their brains, and turn them into more zombies. Once someone becomes one of the zombies, you can't cure him, because a moral compass can only be repaired by understanding the consequences of actions in a new way... and they don't care about actions or consequences. They only care about beliefs, and not about consequences at all. Their moral compasses aren't just broken. They are absent. There's nothing to repair. You have to understand that the zombies are zombies now.

You know it's going to be a bad day when, on All Saints Day, your church has a table with pictures of the recently deceased and you find your picture among them. 😉 @FrCharles @Joeinblack

There are basically two competing visions of the Catholic Church: 1. The Bride of Christ, fair as the moon and clear as the sun, beautiful and fearsome, like an army arrayed for war. and 2. The UN with altar girls. These two visions clash on most issues.

I understand each word in this post individually, but when combined into a sentence containing "VAULTED the Dylan Harper NBA Debut Patch Auto" it might as well have been written in Klingon.

What are we even doing? Question to ask your pro-migrant friends: Want to live in a country that was 95% these people? Wanna live in Somalia? Walk the number down to find their limit. Say it's 40%. Follow up: What are you going to do when their population hits 39.95%?
Mogadishu? Nope. This is a real "get out the vote" ad in Minnesota.

This.
Well, another Cardinal has come out with a, shall we say, puzzling take on evangelization. A few years ago, Cardinal Américo Aguiar, at the time auxiliary bishop of Lisbon, said that he and the other organizers of World Youth Day in his hometown had no interest in converting anyone to Christ. Now Cardinal Jean-Paul Vesco of Algeria has opined that “the Church is not there to convert” and “Christians should approach other religions through fraternity rather than seeking conversions.” Excuse me, but…what? Last time I checked, the Founder said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Sure sounds like conversion to me. When St. Paul came to Corinth or Athens or Thessalonica, his purpose was not to listen or to form a discussion group but rather to declare an unnerving message: the euangelion (glad tidings) that Jesus Christ is risen from the dead. So impassioned is he for this work that he says, “I have become all things to all people, that I might by all means save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel” (1 Cor. 9:22); and “If I proclaim the gospel, this gives me no ground for boasting, for an obligation is laid on me, and woe to me if I do not proclaim the gospel” (1 Cor. 9:16)! Moreover, the entire thrust of the Second Vatican Council was toward bringing the Light of Christ to the peoples of the world (Lumen Gentium). And this missionary élan has given rise in the last few decades to the idea of a “new evangelization,” which is to say, a fresh declaration of the Lordship of Christ. Quite obviously, no one thinks that this work of evangelization should be done in a brow-beating, overbearing, or disrespectful manner (proselytization), but for God’s sake, let’s not throw the baby out with the bathwater. If I really thought that the Church does not exist to bring people to Christ, then I would resign and get an honest job.

TFW you realize that Donald Trump's Department of State is more evangelical than the entirety of the @USCCB.
America, more than any other nation in world history, was shaped by the Christian tradition of spreading the gospel unto all nations. Join us in celebrating International Religious Freedom Day.

THIS. Can confirm.
Hypothesis: Bishops conferences inevitably adopt the modal politics of their lay staff. Staff of middle aged ladies = middle aged lady politics. Restaff with white guys age 20-35 = totally different politics. Same bishops, same doctrines.
