My son once asked why a bank doesn't just print more money if everyone needs some.
Most money lessons for kids are rules to memorize, never the "why."
So I wrote "Money Is Not a Mystery" — first-principles money for 9-12 year olds. My book, out now 👇

Before the high calorie food intake on Diwali, decided to climb the highest hill I can see from my house. View is always the bonus
Kailash Vidhya Vihar, that's the school I went to till 8th standard from 1988 onwards. A school by JK cement for its labourforce. Some nostalgic trip it is.
Some meals are special not because of what's on the plate, but because of who's sitting around it.
Nothing beats home-cooked food with family. ❤️

PSA: Find your voter status (in Bangalore) easily. Pls RT.
Final SIR data is out!
But it's all a myriad of PDFs to comb through, captchas, slow sites, and changed part numbers so it is hard to find out your status as a voter!
Over 4 days, I painstakingly reverse engineered the captcha, downloaded 10,000+ PDFs (over 100GB), OCR'ed them, converted to structured data, and then setup sir-bangalore.shantanugoel.c… so you can search for your status through name, voter id, house number etc in an instant without any captcha.

Udaipur’s Old City.
Narrow lanes. Clean, quaint, charming.
Founded in 1559.
There is no reason this should draw fewer visitors than the medieval towns of Europe. None at all.
We travel far to discover new places.
Sometimes the discovery begins closer home.

Update: didn't expect this so soon — 11 copies of "Money Is Not a Mystery" sold already, including one to a friend who messaged me out of nowhere to say he'd bought it.
Thank you, whoever you are out there. Means more than you know for a first book.

You want the young officer to sacrifice his life for the love of the Nation, but you don’t want him to express his love for his fiancée.
In the Army we say ‘Youngster nahi karega, toh kaun karega’.
If you can not find a fault in his professional capabilities, don’t do this nuktachini for such a pure gesture of love and belonging.
Military equipment has been on display during many ‘Know your Army’ exhibitions around the country. The students and non military personnel have clicked pics with it showing pride and love for the Army. So, please don’t bring in the national security angle into this.
Let the young soldier do his national duty with pride and honour 👍
