I have a piece in @ForeignAffairs: the Nordics have made a qualitative leap in military cooperation and are forming a deterrence cluster within NATO.

Jeg indtager det ledige standpunkt, at Forsvarsakademiet bør åbne en sprogofficersuddannelse i fransk med henblik på fremtidige fredsbevarende missioner i Vesteuropa.

Completely delusional. Two least popular leaders in Europe - Merz and Macron - are meant to build ‘a stronger Europe for the 21st century’ 🤦🏻♂️
.@_FriedrichMerz should distance himself from the domestic bickering about economic policy and migration, and instead make it his mission to work with @EmmanuelMacron on building a stronger Europe for the 21st century, Jan-Werner Mueller suggests. project-syndicate.org/commen…

The Arctic has become an additional test of transatlantic cohesion after the Trump administration's claim to Greenland.
How would a Europeanised NATO defend the region? @larsenification icds.ee/en/europeanising-nat…
The Europeanisation of NATO serves two purposes in the Arctic: strengthening European confidence in solidarity with Denmark and providing for a more dedicated European and Canadian effort in the High North and thus indirectly for protecting the US homeland

Sobering assessment about the threat from Russia--the so-called hybrid attacks risk causing over-anxiety.
Lithuanian PM: No evidence Russia is preparing an attack on NATO in the near future
Lithuanian intelligence services have no information indicating that Moscow is preparing a serious military incident in the coming weeks or months, Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius said.
“If there is a threat, society needs to be told about it. But we should not exaggerate it or claim that something is definitely going to happen in the coming weeks or months,” he said.
At the same time, the prime minister stressed that the threat from Russia remains, and Lithuania will continue strengthening its defense and security together with its NATO allies.

Published just ahead of the Trump-Xi summit, it seeks to help Washington and Beijing turn their commitment to “strategic stability” into practical progress.

At a time of rising geopolitical tensions, what role can unilateral measures play in reducing global risk?
