I built an open-source CLI tool called RN Build Doctor to help diagnose build failures and crashes using project configuration and build logs.
If you're still running into similar issues, I'd love for you to give it a try and share feedback on whether its diagnosis is useful.

We're removing the 5-hour limit for verified Ultra accounts.
We’re renaming our Max plans:
Max 5x → Max
Max 20x → Ultra
Max is still $100/month, and Ultra is still $200. If you’re a subscriber, there’s nothing you need to do.
We’re also removing the 5-hour limit for verified Ultra accounts, starting today with most existing subscribers. Newer accounts keep a temporary limit until they’re verified, which helps us prevent fraud and abuse. You'll get an email when it's removed.
Weekly limits remain unchanged. View our plans here: claude.com/pricing
3 of my PRs got merged into @expo this week. One of them was a single line. That one line took hours.
Not because the code was hard, but because most of the work was understanding the problem before touching anything.
A few things open source keeps teaching me:
- Slow down before you speed up. Understanding the bug is half the fix.
- Prove it works. "It should work" isn't the same as "I checked."
- Explain your thinking. A clear PR gets reviewed faster than clever code.
- Ask before you build. One good question can save days of work.
Contributing to a project thousands of developers rely on has taught me more in a week than months of side projects.
On to the next one 🚀

expo shipped a CLI that's built for AI agents, not humans
@expo/agent-cli in SDK 58
we've officially reached the point where frameworks have a separate CLI for your copilot 🐤

3rd PR merged into @expo 🎉
On Android, if you set your phone to Celsius in Regional preferences, apps using expo-localization still showed Fahrenheit. Android was storing the setting in the locale tag, but nobody was reading it.
Now they do!

Another PR merged into @expo 🎉
The blur effect stayed on below Android 12 when it should have turned off, and it could crash the app while scrolling.
The cause was two props being set in the wrong order. The fix was one line, and finding it took most of the work.

A small update:
Two weeks in, NPM says 590+ downloads of rn-build-doctor and GitHub shows 93 unique cloners.
Still taking both with a pinch of salt, but the curve is going the right way.

My contribution to @expo docs is merged!
It's a new guide for the Windows "Filename longer than 260 characters" Android build error.
Thanks to @amanhimself for the review 🫶
