Fun fact: the country with the most affordable groceries is the country with the most rocket launches and the most billionaires.
Why do billionaires build space rockets instead affordable community grocery stores?

You can tell how awful China would have become without communism by looking at the great desitution in Singapore and Taiwan
If Chiang Kai-Shek had won, today China would be utterly poverty-stricken, have zero nuclear weapons, and would probably be host to a lot of U.S. military bases
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Chiang Kai-shek's government became modern Taiwan, which has higher life expectancy, higher GDP per capita, and hosts no US military bases. georank.org/life-expectanc… countryeconomy.com/countries/comp… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_St…

If the *our democracy* people really wanted to shore up public faith in election processes they could take basic measures that even third world countries are capable of including reporting election results the same day and taking non citizens off the voter rolls.

Name one? How about a few? Rockefeller lowered the cost of kerosene through efficient refining and distribution. Ford made automobiles affordable through mass production. Carnegie reduced steel production costs through industrial innovation. Walton lowered retail prices through bulk purchasing and efficient logistics. Dell made computers cheaper by eliminating retail intermediaries. Kamprad made furniture affordable through flat-pack manufacturing and distribution. Bezos intensified retail competition through Amazon. Koum made international messaging practically free through WhatsApp. Page and Brin made search, navigation, email, and translation available without direct charges. And that's barely scratching the surface. In fact, it would be considerably more challenging to find a billionaire who earned their fortune through voluntary trade without lowering costs, improving quality, increasing productivity, or making something more accessible. That's how fortunes are generally made in competitive markets. You create value for others, and the more people you serve, the greater your potential reward. You don't even have to buy from these businesses to benefit. Their competitors must improve their offerings or risk losing customers. These clout chasers destroy their credibility daily without so much as flinching. They enjoy the accumulated benefits of capitalist innovation while confidently demanding evidence that any of it ever happened. The economic illiteracy would be impressive if it weren't so commonplace.
Name one time a billionaire has lowered your bills

Since riots are now spreading across Europe, there are some simple things any country that wants to avoid them can announce. Anyone found guilty of rioting/looting: - who is a foreign national will be immediately deported - who is a dual national will be immediately stripped of their citizenship, then deported - who is an asylum seeker or has been granted asylum, will be denied asylum/deported - permanently banned from receiving any benefits/welfare of any kind - given harsh custodial sentences Announce this now and avoid riots or watch your country go down the route of France and Germany.

Every voter in Texas should watch this before Election Day.
5 minutes of James Talarico in his own words. Send this to your friends in Texas and let them know today is their last day to Vote Early.

All the stuff that 20 years ago they would have said was evidence of electoral malfeasance if it happened in another country is now ‘normal.’ One of the most important roles of the media is to abet our political devolution.
If you go to bed on election night and don't know who won a midterm congressional race, that's normal. And if you wake up the next morning and find that a candidate who was behind hours earlier has since pulled ahead, that's normal, too. (via @PolitiFact) to.pbs.org/4zqnWBa

Don't worry Alaskans, it's totally normal for a guy running for the US Senate to; not actively campaign, raise only $35K and give most of it to his campaign lawyers, and then when questioned about his authenticity, he flees his home and refuses interviews with anyone.

Generals? What Generals? The bar for becoming a general officer is in the fucking basement. You can see a trend in my posts as of late. I've gone full bluntness on this topic since nothing else seems to work. We spent twenty years losing wars while rewarding the people who learned how to survive the system that was losing them. Strategic failure became “complexity.” No victory became “persistent engagement.” Nobody got fired, everyone got another star, and the bureaucracy learned the oldest trick in Washington: rename failure until it sounds like expertise. Then came the cultural surrender. The same generals who couldn't produce victory abroad stood almost mute while the formation was carved up at home by race, sex, identity, extremism stand downs, demographic targets, and an expanding DEI bureaucracy. They watched warfighting institutions absorb the language and priorities of academia and HR, then called the corrosion “leadership.” That's the stunning indictment nobody wants to touch: a general is supposed to protect the formation from threats outside it and rot inside it. Too many did neither. We promoted custodians of decline and called them strategic leaders. I'm sick and tired of having to pretend the system isn't absolutely cracked in half by people who serve themselves over the nation. No more.

US GDP growth figures out this morning show a robust 3.4%, exceeding all expectations. That is more than double the anemic 1.6% in poor beleaguered Australia, and well above Europe (2.4%) and the UK (2%). Beats me how anyone with any ambition for a better life could vote for leftists.

Did you know… 2014: the candidate who ran against Lula’s party died. 2018: the candidate who ran against Lula’s party was stabbed and nearly killed. 2022: the candidate who ran against Lula’s party is serving a 27-year sentence for a “coup” that never happened. 2026: Flávio Bolsonaro, the candidate who ran against Lula, is in exile. What are the odds? Just huge coincidences. And Lula wants us to believe he won the election fairly?

I think Pete Hegseth saved the U.S. military from falling into the ideological abyss. I also think he's done it with every single card in the deck stacked against him. A calcified bureaucracy and screeching "civil servants" who gnash their teeth any time "merit" is mentioned.
Replying to @infantrydort
I am curious what you think of what Hegseth is doing. It’s been awhile since I was active duty. Since leaving it’s obvious that they commenced with a social experiment and they also politicized the institution. The warriors were ousted and professionally destroyed. And Now??

The Ilhan Omar "married her brother" story was originally broken by @realDSteinberg at the @powerlineUS blog and @PJMedia_com in 2018. Media covered it only to try to bury it. It was treated as a conspiracy theory. Now we know the feds knew it in 2016. powerlineblog.com/archives/2…

If I worked at The New York Times after the paper got a Pulitzer for Russia collusion reporting, I would be too ashamed talk about “decisively forfeit[ing] any presumption of honesty.”
One of the many problems with this administration is that it lies with such regularity and frequency that you can't trust a syllable that comes from anyone. This statement on background might be true, or it might not be true. But the administration has decisively forfeited any presumption of honesty.

I dislike him because he killed 60-100 million people. Down in Purgatory, Genghis Khan calls HIM "Uncle."
Let's be honest, the West hates Mao because he liberated Chinese people, united the country, and made it impossible to be a Western puppet. Moreover, he inspired more Asian, African, and Latin American people's anti-colonial and anti-imperialist movements. The West slanders any leader who refuses to obey them. Mao was a great strategist, revolutionist, thinker, writer and leader. Long live the great unity of the people of the world!💪

Can you name a Democrat running for the U.S. House or Senate who publicly opposes open borders, tax hikes, the Green New Scam, and giving men access to spaces reserved for women? If not, that’s saying something. Remember: the Democrats are now the party of the DSA.
There is so such thing as a 'moderate Democrat.' Every Democrat wants to open our borders. Every Democrat wants to raise your taxes. Every Democrat wants the Green New Scam. Every Democrat wants men in girl's bathrooms. And every Democrat running for office will vote with Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer virtually 100% of the time.
