“From ghoulies and ghosties and long-leggedy beasties, and things that go bump in the night, Good Lord, deliver us!” So goes the old Scottish bedtime prayer and our familiar campfire recitation. While our family has never been particularly devoted to Halloween, we’ve certainly enjoyed our share of campfire tales, including the Blue Mist and the fearsome Wendigo. But on this dark and stormy night in the Pinery, beneath the watchful eyes of a real great horned owl in our backyard, two rather cheerful ghosties have appeared amid the swirling mist and flickering lanterns. Some ghosts, it seems, are more likely to steal your heart than haunt your dreams. 🎃👻 A little behind-the-scenes Halloween magic: Scout and Murphy would never dream of wearing costumes of any kind. In fact, even bandanas are where they draw the line! So, while the Goldens are very real, their ghostly disguises are courtesy of a little AI wizardry. No dogs were dressed, inconvenienced, or asked to surrender their dignity in the making of these spooky scenes. Just a little imagination, a touch of technology, and two very willing stars who had absolutely no idea they were participating! Treats were involved. 🎃👻
