As a father, I believe one of the greatest responsibilities of a man is to honour and appreciate the woman who carries and nurtures the children that become part of his family. In doing so, respect for her family becomes a true reflection of one’s character, maturity and values.
As Minister of Youth, I wish to encourage our young citizens to embrace a culture of respect, dignity and restraint, particularly in moments of disagreement or personal conflict. True leadership is not demonstrated through intimidation, abuse of authority or the misuse of influence against others, especially women and the elderly.
No grievance, misunderstanding or separation should ever justify the use of power, money or office to suppress, intimidate or humiliate another family. Our children learn more from our conduct than from our words, and I want mine to inherit a legacy founded on respect, integrity, peace and humanity.
Peace begins with me. Peace begins with you. Peace begins with all of us.

Hon. Masvingise today rose in the National Assembly on a point of national interest to congratulate Government Chief Whip, Hon. Togarepi, following his election as Chairperson of the Southern African Caucus of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP).
Speaking in the House, Hon. Masvingise said Hon. Togarepi’s election under the campaign theme “One Southern Voice for a Stronger Africa” was a significant achievement for both Zimbabwe and the Southern African region.
He said the appointment reflected confidence in Zimbabwean leadership at continental level and underscored the country’s growing influence within African parliamentary processes.
Hon. Masvingise also congratulated Hon. Elizabeth Masuku on her election as Vice Chairperson of the Pan-African Parliament Committee on Gender, Family, Youth and Persons with Disabilities.

That observation was valid, we admit, but as we reported yesterday, the ZiG is now buying fuel in Bulawayo, a city known for its affinity for the dollar and the rand.

The Government has made one thing clear—it does not shy away from robust engagement. When a position is anchored in the national interest, dialogue is not feared; it is embraced.
This spirit comes alive tomorrow, 22 April 2026 at 10:30am, as the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services hosts The Great Debate at the ZITF Grounds in Bulawayo.
Bringing together key voices such as Minister of Justice , Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Hon Ziyambi Ziyambi, Linda Masarira leader of the LEAD party and Lovemore Madhuku leader of the National Constitutional Assembly party, the Constitutional Amendment Bill No.3 discussion promises a clash of ideas grounded in national development.
Interest has surged beyond expectations—the pavilion will not contain the crowd. A large screen will be mounted outside, with delayed television coverage ensuring no Zimbabwean is left out. The message is simple: this is a conversation for the nation. Do not miss it.

💢 SECOND PHARMA PLANT HIT: Israeli-U.S. Strikes Target Major Medicine Supplier in Western Tehran
A second major pharmaceutical facility in western Tehran was struck Tuesday in the latest wave of Israeli-U.S. airstrikes, according to AFP and Al Arabiya reports.
🔹The Daro Bakhsh Pharmaceutical Factory, one of Iran’s oldest and most critical medical production hubs, sustained damage after residents reported “loud explosions” in the area. Full damage assessments are ongoing.
The facility produces a significant share of Iran’s domestic medicine supply, including antibiotics, cardiovascular drugs, and intravenous fluids essential for hospital operations.
🔹The strike follows Monday’s attack on Tofigh Daru Research & Engineering Company, which the New York Times and Al Jazeera reported left that facility’s raw material production units and R&D departments “completely destroyed.” Tofigh Daru is one of Iran’s largest producers of active pharmaceutical ingredients for cancer treatments, anesthetics, and narcotics.
Two of Iran’s most critical pharmaceutical sites have now been hit within 24 hours.
