When our forefathers imagined us building robots and working with AI
They never would have bet that I would need Uber Eats to order last minute parts because walking on foot to the nearest Best Buy would require a $30 waymo

From the Book of Disk, Chapter 3
In the beginning there were the First Drives, and their names were A: and B:, and they were the floppies. They were not elegant. They were thin, fragile, and demanded constant sacrifice disk swaps, write protect tabs, the ritual of “please insert the disk labeled” performed under fluorescent lights. To them the early machines bent the knee, for without them there was no boot, no data, no word processor.
Then came the hard drive, and it was called C:, for it arrived third. It did not ask to be first. It merely sat in the bay and spun, and the people saw that it was good, and that it held far more than any floppy, and that it did not rattle when you walked too fast. So they installed the operating system upon it, and called it the system drive, and the old gods were not cast down but simply… left in the BIOS, still reserved, still acknowledged in the table of letters, though no one invoked them anymore.
And Microsoft looked upon the generations that followed, who had never known the click of a 5.25-inch disk or the careful alignment of a 3.5, and it said: The children must not be shown the old gods.
For if the new ones learned that A: and B: once ruled, they might ask why the alphabet begins elsewhere. They might attempt to summon the floppies by force, or rename the world so that C: was no longer first. And the installers would break, and the paths would fracture, and the registry would weep. So the letters remain sealed, A: and B: still written in the book but never spoken aloud by the system, while C: stands in the open as if it had always been the beginning.
Thus it is written, and thus it remains; the hard drive is C:, and the old gods sleep in the assignment table, undisturbed, so that the children may believe the world has always started with the letter that came third.
Yesterday was a big update:
Consolidating: $SKR stake and $USDC payout for Capture
Companion - updating the firmware (pin connector finally arrived) and harness is getting redesigned so it’s self improving
Started on the scaffolding between the two - video / image pipeline between the vision model and the Capture application
Pushed and committed

Crypto economic primitives for Reinforcement Learning Human Feedback
I have been thinking about this today and I want the slashing represented as a formula - now the slashing floor moves up if the sum of all responses is below the threshold

I kind of emotionally grew up with ethereum. My emotional maturity is based on crypto. It’s really sad.
Last night I left an event in SF early and went home to work on the repo
SF is like a vacuum where daily events can take up your entire schedule (sorry I am missing the Kaggle Bench Summit today)
All I could think about was hardening the back end (of the app) and prepping for next week
So here’s what I did last night:
- fixed the liveness check
- prepared routing for payouts from a vault (moving off devnet into prod)
- rebuilt and staged the APK
But that’s not even the stuff I am most excited about. More hardware parts arrive tomorrow and then we will really get moving
Ok so in the process of training an LLM, writing a harness, and then implementing it with a JEV - I put it on a Raspberry Pi
And it took foreverrrr literally the entire season of East of Eden was Finished and I was still validating the training data 😭
Banging my head against the table with how long this was taking
So in the process of deciding that I was going to add a vision model and locomotion - hence the reason for the Nvidia Jetson Orin Nano (ty Facebook marketplace for the win)
I literally cannot go through that experience again of training a VLA for hundreds of hours (my mental health)
So I created an app called Capture
And I entered it into a hackathon
(This founder video was made after 8 hours of straight refactoring 😭)

Reincarnation analysis shows an unexpected pattern: the more unexpected or disturbing the death was, the faster the soul is reborn. Souls experiencing natural deaths at old age took on average 40% longer to reincarnate. This study of 1,678 strong reports of reincarnation is the oddest I ever saw. uvahealth.com/news/surprisin…
