Absolutely CRAZY day in the market today:
1. $GOOGL sank about 12.6% to roughly $283.75, its worst day since going public in 2004, wiping out about $500 billion of market value.
2. $NOW plunged about 27% to $109.65 on weak subscription guidance and a bookings and profit miss, and $FTNT fell about 20% to $139.08 on a product revenue shortfall and weak guidance, pressuring software stocks.
3. $MRVL fell about 13% to roughly $218 after Bloomberg reported advanced talks to acquire $LITE. $LITE jumped as high as about $978 intraday, then faded its entire gain to close up just 0.6% at about $920, with no deal announced yet.
4. $ICE agreed to become the exclusive operator of a new U.S.-regulated perpetual futures market built on Hyperliquid with Trade[XYZ], the largest builder of real-world-asset perpetual markets on Hyperliquid, and is making a strategic investment in Trade[XYZ], subject to regulatory approval. $ICE closed up about 4.6% at $163.06.
5. Polymarket's international exchange paused trading Thursday afternoon after unauthorized wallet withdrawals tied to a breach at a third-party vendor, with at least $2.7 million traced to one account. T
6. After the close, Binance was hacked for nearly $5.6 Billion with the hack reportedly still ongoing.
7. $LLY rose about 6.6% to $1,372.99 after a Q3 beat and a raised full-year revenue outlook.
8. $AMZN shares fell roughly 6% after hours after Trailing 12-month free cash flow came in at negative $42.4 billion
9. $INTC fell roughly 16% to 17% after hours as Q4 guidance fell well short of expectations.
10. $SNDK shares wavered as the company announced an 8-for-1 stock split and reported bumper earnings.
11. In other earnings news: $RBLX down about 17%, $RDDT down about 16%, $TWLO down about 15%, $PINS down about 12%, $ILMN and $SYK each down about 12%.

BREAKING: Abdul El-Sayed's father is a board member of an Islamic charity accused of funneling cash to Saddam Hussein.
Mamdani weighing in on DoorDash M&A as if NYC is their only market is hilariously ignorant
A combined $DASH and $CART will combine complementary tech and distribution networks that will offer more options for consumer and more orders for its gig employees (which means more $)
I do think drivers should get paid more for the service they provide which would drive up cost for users, but it is ultimately a luxury to not have to get up off your ass and have someone deliver something to your doorstep
That said, I also think this acquisition makes strategic sense in light of increased competition from Amazon, Uber, Walmart and other giants offering better pricing and faster execution (a net positive for consumers)
We don’t need government stepping in to block clearly synergistic M&A and distorting free-market dynamics
We can point to Elizabeth Warren’s campaign to block the JetBlue / Spirit Airlines merger, which she touted as a big victory for consumers, only for Spirit to ultimately shut down and leave consumers worse off with less choices
Just last month, DoorDash couldn’t seem to find the money to pay their deliveristas — until our administration forced them to give back $131M+ in stolen wages and penalties.
This week, they’ve managed to find $17 billion to acquire one of their main competitors.
Corporate consolidation means higher prices, harsher exploitation, and greater economic inequality for New Yorkers.
We’ve stood up to these giants before. That doesn’t stop now.

Today we're launching @snaptrude Agent, the most advanced agent for building design.
It does real design work with you, from a site to a construction-ready LOD 400 model with structure, MEP and drawings. Then can go back to your existing software with your families intact.
About a year ago we bet the company on AI. Honestly the insight came from software engineering. It wasn't long ago that autocomplete felt like a big deal, and now engineers direct agents that write a lot of the code. I think the same shift is coming to how we design buildings, and it's already started.
Most designers I meet aren't short on skill, they're short on time. Take the call every design team dreads, the client cuts the budget by 30%. Today that's a bad month for everyone. With the agent you're the director. You decide where the cost comes out, and it updates the layout, coordinates the structure and MEP, and redoes the drawings. So when design exploration gets this cheap, we go from 3 options to 300, and more options means better buildings.
Since August our users have gone through more than 140 billion tokens, and firms like Jacobs, Studio+, Kajima, VMDO, Dekker and hundreds of others use Snaptrude today. In our early access, more than 2,000 designers have run over 25,000 tasks through the agent since September.
We also built a benchmark for this, AECBench, because in AEC an almost correct answer is still wrong. It gives AI the same brief an architect would get, has its design in a real BIM model, and scores the result against the brief and against how architects review design. We're publishing the first results today, link below.
Thank you @prashanthp at @Accel and Shub and the team at @foundamental for backing us when this was still a bet, and the Snaptrude team, who built every bit of this. Really proud of you all.
Thanks to our investors, @scottbelsky, @andreasklinger, @thilokonzok, @immad, @CindyXBi, @DanilaVladi, @jmwass, rahulchaudhary, @adamecourt, Zach Ginsburg, Alex duff, Paul grossinger, really appreciate all the help along the way.
It's confusing why a major multi billion dollar law firm is going bankrupt.
So I talked to a bunch of lawyer friends about why Weil could suddenly be insolvent.
Unintuitively, law firms are basically fixed-cost businesses. Revenue comes from a concentrated core group of rainmakers.
Those rainmakers carry the whole business, while the rest of the business basically drags ass. Junior partners are rainmakers-in-training--they can't yet bring in the huge load-bearing dollars.
Everyone else--associates, back office staff--comprises one gigantic fixed cost center. Not to mention basic overhead like offices, revolver interest (for cashflow timing needs), etc.
The problem with law firms in particular, as opposed to other advisory businesses like banking, consulting, accounting, is that the clients are inherently portable.
So any partner can take their team and clients and leave. Doing so deleverages the rest of the partnership, because a small number of partners carry most of the revenue while leaving behind fixed costs.
Once there's a crisis of confidence, it no longer makes sense for partners to stay, because they're now getting underpaid in profit share relative to their revenue potential.
If they were to leave for a megafirm like Kirkland, they'd be properly compensated for their earning potential instead of being saddled by rising fixed costs as a percent of revenue.
There's also not much IP or brand moat in a law firm. Clients follow partners, and the process of crafting exceptional judgment is mostly in partners' heads (versus for instance more regimented value delivery in consulting and banking, where there can be a branded firm process).
And lastly, the partners ARE the equity in the firm. Law firms have no terminal value, so when partners leave it's as if a huge chunk of the firm equity walks out the door.
tl;dr law firm bankruptcy is basically a crisis of partner confidence, and the resulting departure spiral saddles anyone remaining with the gigantic fixed overheads of running a billion-dollar business.
