The greatest enemy of Christian government in America was the federal judiciary of the last 60 years.
Many older conservatives today don’t understand that what they grew up with isn’t the American tradition—it’s 1960s radicalism. Or what some call the “post-war consensus.”

The lesson is this:
You fight against small compromises now, or you fight against large compromises later (and lose).
I don’t think most Presbyterian pastors are familiar with the details of how the Northern & Southern Presbyterian churches went liberal in the 1900s.
If they were, they would realize just how *slowly* liberalism advances, and how apparent *small compromises* set the stage for later apostasy.

"Change in the Presbyterian Church in the United States came as a gradual thing, and its ascendancy in the denomination, over a long period of time. We confess that it should not have been permitted. Views and practices that undermine and supplant the system of doctrine or polity of a confessional Church ought never to be tolerated. A Church that will not exercise discipline will not long be able to maintain pure doctrine or godly practice." - Morton Smith, 1973

Despite the fact that Samuel Sey has taken cheap shots at me before, and even worse cheap shots at others, I am in no way rejoicing over what’s happened to him. As a husband and father, I’m actually quite sad for him & his family.
And many of my friends can attest that I’ve spent the last few days in private channels cautioning restraint, speaking against anything that seems like “gloating,” and encouraging everyone to wait for more details and to see what unfolds.
That doesn’t mean I don’t have the stomach to see justice done, I do. I also care about people.
I haven’t said a single negative thing about Samuel’s character during this and I don’t plan to. Even my remarks above I think are just plain truths, as I see it.
I did speak out against how I saw some evangelicals weaponizing the situation to argue for bad immigration policy, suggestions like he “belongs” here just because he’s a Christian or a family man.
Sorry, but that’s not our criteria for admittance to America and that’s not justification for breaking our laws.
But I will say that this episode has only further exposed the worst of the worst on “Evangelical Twitter”
Actors like:
> Joel Berry
> Neil Shenvi
> Eli McGowan
> James Lindsay
> Erick Erickson
Each of these spiteful, hateful men have routinely lied about me, my friends, and good organizations doing great work in our nation.
And then what do they do?
They grotesquely weaponize the terrible predicament of Samuel Sey to score cheap shots.
They lie to their followers.
They solicit funds under false pretenses.
And more.
And they will never apologize for it.
As God is my witness, I was never the one who went and picked a fight with any of these guys. At some point, for some reasons, they came after me.
Even now, I try to ignore them unless they are attacking me.
But this episode has proved beyond a shadow of a doubt how morally bankrupt they really are.
The time is past to be giving them any benefit of the doubt.
You should simply never believe anything they say ever again. All they do is lie.

Which candidate is more likely to uphold what is right and punish what is evil?
That's the whole question. Everything else is a distraction.
Too many Christians don’t vote. Some from real hesitations about a candidate, others from cynicism about the whole process. But whatever my hesitations about a politician, they always reduce to that one question.
Politicians and the media give us plenty to be distracted by but many times we make the decision harder than it needs to be.

I'm sorry I can't stop reading and re-reading this. No head of state has talked like this in probably 200 years. Today is something like a rebirth for the world and you need to stop and consider it deeply. This is the spirit that launched the Conquista and the Reconquista.

These type of horrendous theological takes basically exclusively come from women in my experience. The relentless finger-wagging, nagging, and evangelizing at every little thing. They take Bible verses out of context, combine it with their own personal convictions, and present it as actual theology. And if you disagree, they claim you're not a real Christian.
You dress up for fun and hand out candy. It's not that deep. It's never been that deep. If we listened to these women, fun wouldn't exist in this world at all anymore. This type of overanalysis does nothing but make Christianity look bad and give the muslims, atheists, pagans, etc easy wins.
Strangely enough, she deleted her last horrendous theological take then replaced it with one just as ridiculous. It's as if she learned nothing at all and maybe shouldn't be lecturing on this topic. Where is this retard's husband? Put your woman on a leash bro.

I think Vance is the only American elite who has some sense that the world is making Tucker(s) and Candace(s) and Nick(s), and not that those three are making the world.
It's not a fin de siecle school of philosophy. It's not social media (though it may magnify anxiety).

This is the issue that arises when people attempt to make conscience issues a matter of law. It’s impossible to stay consistent.

You shouldn't be playing peekaboo.
How many times do we read throughout Scripture: “Do not fear.”
And yet, we let mama pretend to disappear. This is a direct contradiction of Jesus’ commands to not be fearful or be anxious about anything.
Spot on here.
Instead of telling members to "acheive the outcome," the church should instruct on the how and actively create a fertile environment through real community.

@lymanstoneky at AmRef this morning discussing insights from a new study by @FamStudies on cultural factors that influence fertility.
She would be wise to read Deut 4:2 and 12:32, Proverbs 30:5-6, Rev 22:18-19 before speaking and leading followers astray.

👉 “You get what you tolerate.”
This is a good breakdown. The muted response to Senator Slotkin's terrorism and violations of the law from the GOP will mean an escalation from the Democrats.
That escalation will come in the form of political violence and lawfare. If people like Slotkin aren't held accountable, innocent young Republicans will be the ones paying the price. Which up until this point has included everything from fear and intimidation to job losses and even murder.
You get what you tolerate. If we tolerate this, there is nothing the Democrats won't do to destroy our lives.
