For a decade, Proton has cultivated the public image of a good company fighting for users’ privacy. This investigation shows that behind closed doors, it has become a toxic place where its CEO is pushing for AI at all costs, and mistreating employees. 404media.co/manifestos-fear-…

Nicolas's lab demonstrated AI-driven worms (securely) already, with a measured and rigorous research paper. Yet no panicked media coverage or fear-mongering then! But when a lab makes similar unsubstantiated exaggerated claims with a slop blog post, it matters now.
We discovered that it's possible to create an AI-driven computer worm using an open-weight model that anyone can download. This work was conducted in a lab walled off from the outside world, & shared only after removing details that could aid bad actors. nytimes.com/2026/06/02/techn…

Love to see viral tweets that don't link to the source material. Here's the story: 404media.co/cops-can-bypass-…

The answer is only relevant to a small niche of infosec. Most organisations are hacked by vectors that don’t involve memory corruption exploits. Agentic hacking doesn’t look like exploits, it looks like breadth-first searches for every possible mistake and misconfiguration.
The big open question is: Are we witnessing the vulnpocalypse or the bugocide?

NEW: An iPhone hacking company claims it can freeze the iPhone in a state that makes it easier for cops to access data. The iPhone has an automatic reboot feature that reverts the device to a state where data is harder to extract. This would defeat it. 404media.co/cops-can-bypass-…
