Nix dev shells give you every tool with a single `nix develop`. But what about your database or message queue?
The usual answers re-implement services from scratch and add yet another process manager – one you'll never touch in production. @jlesquembre takes a rather different route, built on what Nixpkgs already does well.
Production-grade local services, one command. Here's how:

and this is why i’m excited about Peras too👀
Leios aims to handle more transactions, while Peras aims to shorten the wait before people and apps can confidently rely on them.
more transactions and less waiting around? i’m here for both 💪
Dear crypto community, I don't think people fully understand what Leios could mean for Cardano. 👀🦋🍄
While everyone is chasing hype and the next 10x memecoin, Cardano is building for institutional adoption, real-world finance, and mass adoption.
And here is why I'm so bullish: 👇
🚀 Leios dramatically increases Cardano's tx capacity (by processing in parallel).
📈 10–15x is the tx target.
🔐 Leios keeps Cardano's security foundation without sacrificing decentralization to chase speed (Unlike BNB and Solana).
🌐 Leios brings more capacity for DeFi, stablecoins, payments, trading, and the next generation of Cardano dApps.
In combination with Hydra, Mithril, Bitcoin DeFi, RealFi, and Midnight, Cardano is building infrastructure that can support millions of users.
Scaling without sacrificing decentralization and security matters.
The market will notice. Stay bullish. 🔥

Cardano’s community has no filter, and @Josi_sndnc from the Cardano Foundation sees that as a good sign.
Behind every complaint, she says, there’s someone who still cares.
We sat down with her at the Intersect booth to interview the interviewer.

What's new with Peras this week? 👀
The team received TSC confirmation on using BLS cryptography with an increased quorum threshold, merged three Consensus PRs and bootstrapped cardano-kosmos as the preferred testnet setup.

Configuration sprawl: YAML here, key-value pairs there, 120 Bash exports holding it all together and a crash minutes into start-up because one value was wrong.
Simeon Carstens tells how the CodeCommons team brought Nickel, a programmable configuration language written in Rust, into a large data ingestion pipeline – and whether it was worth the learning curve.

@IOHK_Charles addresses Japan’s N.Avenue club at its roundtable on protecting privacy in the AI era. The future of finance isn’t TradFi vs. Web3. It’s the best of both, the trust and liquidity of traditional finance, with the speed and privacy of Web3.
