I often hear from Westerners that Russians are victims too, that they live in an authoritarian system and can do nothing about the war.
That is simply not true, but this post isn't about that.
This post is about timing, acting before your democracy turns into a pile of ash and a mad old dictator suddenly starts sending you to war.
Before Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, there was the annexation of Crimea. Before that, the invasion of Georgia. And before that, political prosecutions, the dismantling of democratic institutions, the takeover of the press, and police violence ignored to the point of turning the country into a police state. The time to act was back then. Years ago.
Instead, we watched Russian society slowly degrade into a crowd of obedient little sheep.
I saw people horrified by police violence jump into their cars and trains to head to the capital to protest and demand change. I saw them stand their ground, refusing to budge even when snipers started shooting. Those people are my people, and that revolution started the beginning of our long, hard fight for our democracy and freedom.
And I saw people swallow police violence, repression, and the takeover of the press, until one day, their army started marching through the fields of Donbas, and all they could do was blink like idiots and ask, "What can I do?" Well, duh!
America is at the beginning of this road right now, but it is the exact same road. Today, they choose whether they want to fight for their democracy or let it die. Because their time to act is now, not when the police start shooting at peaceful protesters in the streets and their army starts bombing their neighbors.

L'evento è reale, è accaduto il 2 novembre.
La scelta delle armi per risolvere i conflitti comporta sempre orrori come questi. Da ogni parte.

As I arrive in Brussels, the capital of Europe, to meet with its leaders, the criminal regime in Iran has murdered two more protesters from the January 8 and 9 protests. Amir Hossein Ebrahimi and Amir Hossein Maleki were put to death this morning, killed by the Islamic Republic, for the crime of wanting to be free.
I am in Brussels with a clear message: the era of appeasement must end. Appeasement means more dead, innocent Iranians. Now is the time for moral courage and strategic clarity. Now is time to help the Iranian people end this reign of terror.

On November 2, 2026, russian forces attacked a school in the Zaporizhzhia region, where local residents had gathered to receive humanitarian aid and seek shelter from russian attacks.
The school was built seven meters underground. It was designed to provide a safe place for children to study and protect civilians from russian bombardment.But russia struck it with nine aerial bombs.

A place built to save lives has been reduced to a pile of rubble. People are still being searched for beneath it.
Among the dead are civilians, rescue workers, and police officers who came to help after the first strike.

BREAKING: Palestine Action terrorist organisation in the United Kingdom has carried out another act of sabotage targeting military equipment which were going to be delivered to Ukraine. To mask their ties to the Russian intelligence, the terrorists falsely claim that what they destroyed was going to be delivered to the IDF.
Three members of People Against Genocide - an offshoot of Palestine Action - were arrested after Monday’s break-in at Ultra Intelligence & Communications in Tring, Hertfordshire, where equipment was damaged with hammers.
The damaged satellite communications equipment was intended for Ukraine’s military and this attack undermined Ukraine’s defence while its perpetrators claimed to be acting for Palestine. That serves Russia’s interests.
