We cant live like this. We need to start ramping up pressure to GoK bureaucrats and politicians. They walk abroad but here they love cars because in those tinted windows, they're insulated from public scrutiny and the smell of underdevelopment that they make us wallow in.
Pedestrians and cyclists are getting a raw deal on Uhuru Highway.

Genocide is not the work of generals alone. It takes a whole society to make the unthinkable normal. My latest article, Torture in a White Coat, examines the complicity of Israeli doctors and what it reveals. Read it on my substack and do subscribe. aboujahjah.substack.com/p/to…

Tonight’s outcome isn’t about placing faith in Democrats or socialist principles; it’s about holding Republicans accountable for betraying their promises. All Republicans had to do was: 1. put Americans First 2. not start another war 3. prosecute sex traffickers

Another big blob 2,000 km out gets blue-dotted. So are we looking at another cyclone that will hang around for many days and deny rain to big parts of East Africa?

💯. Several years ago, I was returning from visiting friends in Texas with a connection in Atlanta. After fully boarded in Atlanta, we sat for an hour. Then captain came out to us, spoke on the mic and told us the ground crew inspection paperwork was insufficient and he refused to risk our safety. He said we would deboard, board another plane that was properly checked, and be on our way home. The entire plane erupted in applause. Once we left Atlanta, about 50 miles from home, we started doing large loops at about 10,000 feet. After the 15th loop (we were counting), the captain jokingly said on com to us “As you can see we are doing doughnuts”. He explained there were lines of thunderstorms blocking his approach and he would not risk our safety to gamble threading the needle. He told us we had 90 minutes of fuel left and we would divert to another airport to the west if needed to refuel. The thunderstorm wall passed, so he gunned it to our airport and got us on the ground. As soon as we started exiting the plane, the next TS wave hit. He had that much command and took our safety as his priority. Everyone shook his hand on the way out and some gave him a hug.

This is why we call it the “Pilot In Command” This happened in the same vicinity where the ill-fated Lear Jet hit the storm cell. JetBlue pilot en route from Fort Lauderdale to Austin says to ATC: “So you're gonna make us go through a, uh, severe thunderstorm?” The captain then commanded the situation and overrode the ATC: “So we declare an emergency, making a left turn heading 260 for severe weather avoidance.” Sometimes piloting demands a specific set of traits - decisiveness, independent judgment, and the backbone to reject an instruction when it doesn’t feel right. Refusing the assigned heading showed exactly that kind of assertive leadership. Whoever is pilot monitoring must make these tough calls but ultimately, the captain is the final authority and ultimately accountable for every soul on board.

Sadly the Democrats are as fond of War as Republicans. Biden had ample opportunity to undo Trump's dismantling of JCPOA but did nothing, worse, he gave 100% backing to an Israeli Genocide that couldn't have happened without him. Imperialism is part of the DNA of all US Gov's...
As much as the Iran war is the key reason Trump and the GOP were crushed tonight, it is important to recognize that the pressure for war is now likely to increase. This does not mean that Trump will restart the war. But the balance of pressure for and against war will likely favor escalation. Trump was under a degree of pressure to strike a deal before the midterms, hoping to soften the blow in the polls. But now that the midterms are over, that pressure will dissipate somewhat. Gas prices are still high, but the political cost has already been paid. There won’t be another point on the political calendar for some time when that cost can be exacted again. But two other factors will intensify. Read full analysis: responsiblestatecraft.org/tr…

If there's anything to learn from these US midterms, its that the cabals of billionaire-powerful and their instruments are not invincible. We CAN win against them. We really can. The power remains with the people.

Ethiopia is almost completing building a new airport city in Bishiftu to alleviate Bole. Kenya is still struggling with tender processes to build a second runway and Greenfield terminal at JKIA. Because official corruption is in the latters DNA. It's haemorrhagic

Ive seen many many scenarios like this. Young allied veterans meeting young nazi vets decades later, Vietnam vets on both sides. They almost always reach the same conclusion. Powerful men with fragile egos sent them to die in the mud like animals doing their dirty work.

So many Vietnam vets returned respecting the courage and steadfastness of the Vietnamese, and having learned to hate the deceitful US government. Not all. But a significant number.

This just goes to show that generally speaking, people want to be nice to each other. It’s once governments get involved, that’s when hate and division kicks in.

The indomitable girl who captured him was waiting for him thirty years later On September 21, 1965, a 17-year-old Vietnamese girl named Nguyễn Thị Kim Lai was photographed escorting an enormous American airman through the countryside. His hands were tied behind his back. His head was bowed. She was carrying a rifle. His name was William Andrew Robinson. He was 22, a helicopter mechanic and flight engineer in the US Air Force. The previous day his helicopter had been shot down during a mission to rescue another American airman. Kim Lai was tiny. She weighed 37 kilograms. She had only finished seventh grade before joining the local militia. Her home province, Hà Tĩnh, was being bombed relentlessly by American aircraft. According to her recollection, she discovered Robinson hiding among the rocks in a forest. Frightened by his enormous size, she fired three warning shots. He surrendered. Other militia members arrived and tied his hands. A photographer named Phan Thoan captured the extraordinary contrast between the two. The photograph became famous throughout Vietnam. It appeared on postage stamps. A celebrated Vietnamese poet wrote a poem about it. The image travelled around the world, becoming a symbol of a small country resisting a superpower. Robinson was taken to prison. He spent 2,703 days in captivity. Seven years, four months and twenty-three days. Much of it in isolation, enduring brutal conditions and torture. He was finally released on February 12, 1973. Kim Lai became a nurse. She married, had three children and eventually became a grandmother. Thirty years after their first encounter, in September 1995, she was playing with her grandchildren at a neighbour's house when someone came to tell her that foreigners were looking for her. She returned home. Standing there was William Andrew Robinson. He had come back to Vietnam with a Japanese documentary crew. He had apparently wanted to find her for years but had never been able to afford the journey. She recognised him immediately. According to her recollection, he approached and embraced her before she could greet him. They talked about their lives. Their families. Everything that had happened since those few minutes in a Vietnamese forest. They even returned to the place where he had been captured. Robinson reportedly expressed the hope that there would never be another photograph like theirs. There is another photograph of them, taken during that reunion. She is looking up at him. Smiling. He is standing beside her, still towering over her. No handcuffs. No rifle. With no US government throwing away the youth of its own citizens to forcefully decide the future of Vietnam both can stand tall side by side.

The #EmpireAtAllCosts cult is already making the case for more war.
Republicans supported the decision to go to war against Iran. I think we have to take into account the unhappiness with status of the war, but the support fell when officials started saying things like the terrorists in Tehran want a new peaceful path with the U.S. as they were literally shooting at our forces. Once the decision to take the fight to Iran was made, we needed to follow through and Trump should’ve put Sec Rubio and Adm Cooper in charge of explaining it to the electorate. Still should.
