Love this!!
Before Hollywood, I was living in a van in Hawaii and waiting tables at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. One day, the incredible Rae Dawn Chong walked into the restaurant, and naturally, I went up to her table and said, “Hey, you’re a movie star! What are you doing here?”
She asked if I could act, and I said, “Fuck yeah, put me in your movie!”
She asked for my phone number. The only problem was I didn’t have one. So I gave her my buddy Mike’s number instead. A couple days later, Mike casually mentions, “Oh, by the way, someone called you.” ARE YOU KIDDING ME, MIKE?!
I called her back, and sure enough, she was serious. I drove over to pick up the script, went back to Mike’s house, and read all 120 pages three times in a row. First script I’d ever read. My character's name was Devon, and I remember thinking, “Sweet! I could totally play a Devon!”
I showed up to the audition with every line and inflection mapped out in pencil. Rae told me I could act and offered me the part. I asked if we were shooting in Hawaii. Nope. Los Angeles.
I had about $60 to my name, a bag of clothes, and some rollerblades.
Then Rae told me they'd fly me out. And I remember thinking right then and there, my life just changed forever. I'm going to be an actor.
That little movie was Cursed Part 3, a low-budget horror comedy that opened the door to Hollywood for me.
I'll forever be grateful to Rae for taking a chance on a kid working at a shrimp restaurant. Everybody starts somewhere, and this is where it all began for me.

WTF Is Going On Here? Big Meeting Starts Tomorrow Between Carney & The EU But Europe ALREADY Told Us To Fuck Ourselves?
I am confused
We were told Europe would replace the USA for all Canada’s Trade & Strategic needs
Was that just Bullshit?
This was just absolutely amazing commentary. Take a listen. Let it sink in for a bit. Well done @JustineBateman .
Perhaps the reason so many people are holding on to political “activist” identities is that they are afraid to go back to just being them. Just a plain person. @ClubRandom_ @billmaher
When she does shit like this, I love her.
The best person for the job should get the job. Period.
Today we tabled legislation that would ensure hiring and promotion decisions in the public sector are based on merit, not DEI policies. Mandatory workplace training will be relevant to the roles and responsibilities of the employee, instead of mandatory DEI sessions.
Every Albertan deserves a fair shot, and fairness means everyone competes on the same terms.

When's the Alberta Republican Party holding a leadership race?
I know they have been swamped with all that work they did in the referendum, but they must be ready to embrace rapid growth now right?
Replying to @CoryBMorgan
Keeping Smith will elect Nenshi. Lots of time to replace. The “fixed” election date is 2028 if need be.

A great soundbite from Mike Babcock on how he dealt with being fired by the Toronto Maple Leafs and why his identity goes beyond hockey:
“My dad had this great line: ‘If your knees don't hit my kitchen table, I probably don't care what you think.’ In other words, I'm a blessed man. I've been married 35, I think maybe 36 years. My wife's still my girlfriend. I got three of the greatest kids in the world. I have an unbelievable extended family.
The measure of me as a man is the impact my kids have on society, not wins and losses in hockey. This is what I do. I'm passionate about what I've done, but I'm passionate about other things too. And so, in no way is this reflecting on me as who I am as a person.
I also know what I did as a coach. That team had made the playoffs our first year. We lost. Next thing you know, we get a lot of points. Next year we set the team record for points. We lost in the first round, I think, three times when I was there. But I also know what we had, and we had kids.
And so I'm proud of my time there. I loved my time there. Lou Lamoriello, phenomenal man. Enjoyed him a lot. Mark Hunter, phenomenal to be around. We had lots of good people. I enjoyed my time there. That's it.” #Leafs #LetsGoOilers
So help me understand, did Levi go through the shootout injured? Or did he injure himself on this last shootout attempt?

How does David Cochrane remain on the air?
The fact that he doesn't know this, is astonishing.

The Canadian government's mass immigration policies of the last 10 years were highly regressive. Having seemingly learned nothing, they are dead set on turning back on the taps rather than letting the country heal.
On cue, the media has begun parroting the government's narrative and gaslighting anyone who disagrees. This suggests that they remain blissfully unaware that the Bank of Canada has written extensively about how (mass) immigration has negatively affected housing, rents, inflation, labour supply, wages, and productivity. So I've compiled an inexhaustive list to help these folks.
🏘️- Monetary Policy Report, October 2023
🔗bankofcanada.ca/wp-content/u…
▶️"The strength in rent and other housing costs is partly due to strong housing demand, which is supported by rapid population growth, and a structural lack of housing supply"
🏘️- Staff Analytical Note, December 2023
🔗bankofcanada.ca/wp-content/u…
▶️"The rise in immigration is nonetheless contributing to pressures in inflation components linked to house prices, given that it is adding more to housing demand than to housing supply in the context of structural imbalances in the Canadian housing market."
🏘️ - Speech by Toni Gravelle, December 2023
🔗bankofcanada.ca/2023/12/econ…
▶️"When a country’s population is growing quickly, the supply of housing also needs to increase to avoid a worsening in affordability. Shortly after immigration began ramping up in 2015, Canada’s vacancy rate—a measure of how many apartments and houses there are available to rent or buy—started to fall."
🏘️ - Monetary Policy Report, January 2024
🔗bankofcanada.ca/wp-content/u…
▶️"A larger increase in newcomers than in the past is adding pressure to the structural supply constraint in housing. This has helped to push the overall housing vacancy rate to record lows, which has underpinned house prices and led to higher rents (Chart 3-A)."
🏘️ - Staff Analytical Note, April 2024
🔗 bankofcanada.ca/2024/04/staf…
▶️"Meanwhile, the composition of immigrants coming to Canada has changed considerably since 2015. Historically, growth of the immigrant population in Canada came mostly from permanent residents....While the wages of the earlier immigrants are closer to those of Canadian-born workers and have been increasing over time, those of non-permanent residents are much lower and have fallen over this period. Because real hourly wages are typically correlated with labour productivity, this piece of evidence is consistent with non-permanent residents working in less productive occupations."
🏘️ - Monetary Policy Report, July 2024
🔗bankofcanada.ca/wp-content/u…
▶️"The increase in housing demand from newcomers is being felt across all types of housing, but the largest initial impact tends to be in rental markets. This is because most newcomers start out as renters."
👨🌾 - Staff Analytical Note, May 2025
🔗bankofcanada.ca/wp-content/u…
▶️"if newcomers’ conditional wages reflect their labour productivity, the productive capacity of the Canadian economy grew less than it would have if recent newcomers had the same socio-economic characteristics as in the past."
▶️"However, this gain has been particularly acute for certain industries such as accommodation and food services, business, building and other support services, and retail trade. Labour productivity in these industries—which are comprised of a sizable share of lower-skilled occupations—is lower than the average in the business sector."
👨🌾 - Staff Analytical Note, May 2025
🔗bankofcanada.ca/2025/06/staf…
▶️"Youth—individuals 15–24 years of age—represent a significant portion of the overall increase in unemployment since the start of 2023. This is a larger share than during other periods of rising unemployment (Chart 5). This is partly due to the high number of immigrants, who are generally younger than the rest of the population."
👨🌾 - Speech by Nicolas Vincent, May 2026
🔗bankofcanada.ca/wp-content/u…
▶️“The labour market is particularly challenging for young people”: The 2022–24 influx of young newcomers “intensified competition in Canada for lower-skill and entry-level jobs”. Youth unemployment has risen above 14%, and he expects it may normalize now that immigration has been cut.
🏘️ - Staff Article, September 2026
🔗bankofcanada.ca/2026/09/spar…
▶️"Strong population growth drove asking rents higher in recent years"
