Remember when the Panama Papers revealed how wealthy people around the world used offshore accounts to avoid taxes and shelter their money? And then basically nothing changed.

Tesco profits shot up from £883m to £2.3bn.
An extra £1.4bn+ in profit while families STRUGGLE to afford basic groceries.
It’s not a cost-of-living crisis, it’s a cost-of-greed crisis—backed by government INACTION! 🛑

We’ve had a staggering 42,000 suggestions of small fixes to improve the UK submitted to
Small-Ideas.org so far. You’ve ‘til 5pm Thur. 12 Nov to add yours!
Here’s a few of them…
- Tell people what their blood group is when they first get a blood test. It will encourage those in rare groups to become blood donors.
- Mandatory ‘AI edited’ label for property photos via estate agency sites
- ‘No wrong door’ rule for reporting issues to councils / public bodies. They must send to right place to stop people being passed from council to contractor to agency.
- Add cycle racks to the back of buses.
- Make grocery manufacturers label when pack sizes change. To tackle shrinkflation.
- Allow drivers to turn left on a red light.
All ideas submitted to Small-Ideas.org by 12 Nov will be assessed on the key criteria, then the best selected by a cross-party panel to turn into a manifesto

Bot farms sway the narrative.
Data centres are bot farms.
Government wants data centres.
Billionaires want data centres.
Hope that helps.

We've built an economic system where farmers get paid to destroy crops, landlords profit from housing shortages, pharmaceutical companies profit from illness, and banks profit from debt.
Then we teach students that markets efficiently coordinate human needs.
Fucking incredible.

UK energy bosses to have their bonuses curtailed when suppliers and brokers break the rules.
Who will do that? Ofgem - no chance.
Why no curbs on profiteering?
Need customer-elected directors on Ofgem, energy companies.
Let customers vote on exec pay.

Somewhere in America, a team of highly paid consultants is currently figuring out how to make a product 15% worse, charge 30% more, fire 20% of the workforce, and call the entire thing an innovation in consumer value.
God bless the fucking efficiency of capitalism.

Convincing people with six teeth to defend people with eight yachts may be the greatest political con job in modern history.

The fact that European government have managed to convince their citizens that the official abolition of slavery in their countries in Britain, France, Belgium in the mid 19th century meant the end of the practice is precisely why we need reparations. Reparation starts with reinstating the truth and correcting history.
Slavery didn’t end following the 1833 Act in Britain of the April 1848 Act in France that officially abolished it. It was rebranded as “forced labor” and redeployed intensely in the newly conquered territories in Africa. The official dates of the abolition of slavery only applied to their colonies in the Americas and the West Indies where they were mostly kicked out through liberation wars that led to the independence of those nations.
But slavery continued in their African colonies. Calling it “colonialism” allows people to recite abolition dates as though Africans were no longer being forced to work for European for free and had their hands butchered, their rulers beheaded when they refused to. This continued over a century.

I think we’re in the final stages of capitalism. Capitalists are now consuming the government and the physical and social systems that sustain the common good. Public infrastructure, education, ecosystem protection, and healthcare are being sacrificed for short-term profit.

Why can’t hackers do something useful and relatable? Don’t be fucking around with freezers. Hack into Mastercard and wipe out all evidence of spending. Lower the prices at petrol pumps. Shut down Microsoft Teams, or takedown Outlook for 72 hours. Win hearts and minds!

Profiteering from wars
Nine big oil firms on track to share more than £95bn profit two quarters in a row.
Causing inflation, poverty, misery, climate crisis all over the world, but they don't bear the social cost.
More fossil fuel drilling on the way.

Cost of living protests spread to Germany.
Demonstrations have rocked Italy, Spain, Portugal, Albania and France.
Real problem is inequalities, profiteering.
Govts appeasing corporations and the super-rich, neglecting the masses.
The UK is no different
