Somewhere in America, a team of highly paid consultants is currently figuring out how to make a product 15% worse, charge 30% more, fire 20% of the workforce, and call the entire thing an innovation in consumer value.
God bless the fucking efficiency of capitalism.

The fact that European government have managed to convince their citizens that the official abolition of slavery in their countries in Britain, France, Belgium in the mid 19th century meant the end of the practice is precisely why we need reparations. Reparation starts with reinstating the truth and correcting history.
Slavery didn’t end following the 1833 Act in Britain of the April 1848 Act in France that officially abolished it. It was rebranded as “forced labor” and redeployed intensely in the newly conquered territories in Africa. The official dates of the abolition of slavery only applied to their colonies in the Americas and the West Indies where they were mostly kicked out through liberation wars that led to the independence of those nations.
But slavery continued in their African colonies. Calling it “colonialism” allows people to recite abolition dates as though Africans were no longer being forced to work for European for free and had their hands butchered, their rulers beheaded when they refused to. This continued over a century.

I think we’re in the final stages of capitalism. Capitalists are now consuming the government and the physical and social systems that sustain the common good. Public infrastructure, education, ecosystem protection, and healthcare are being sacrificed for short-term profit.

Why can’t hackers do something useful and relatable? Don’t be fucking around with freezers. Hack into Mastercard and wipe out all evidence of spending. Lower the prices at petrol pumps. Shut down Microsoft Teams, or takedown Outlook for 72 hours. Win hearts and minds!

How come AI is treated as inevitable and something we must adapt to and accept, but renewable energy technology, sustainable infrastructure and electric cars aren’t treated with the same urgency or certainty??

I'm not an economist, but I'd suggest that if you can drop €33m to interfere in the democratic process in order to avoid paying a tiny one-time wealth tax, then you should be paying more fucking tax, you greedy bastard.

The UK,it's politicians, media and establishment all back 100% the Israeli and Ukrainian regimes.
Both of these fascist states have been caught torturing and raping prisoners and public, indiscriminately murdering wherever they go and always blaming the other side, and yet our establishment, media etc demonise the Palestinians and Russians.

When word started coming out during the war that the Germans had concentration/torture camps throughout Germany nobody wanted to believe man's inhumanity to man.
Now it has emerged that Ukraine is rife with torture camps and again people in the west are in denial even when children are involved.
We sent these people £10 billion last week.

I think it's very important that we remember that it wasn’t the CEOs and billionaires who saved us during COVID-19. It was the janitors, nurses, cleaning crews, grocery and food workers with their hard, often invisible labor, kudos to them.

The UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Francesca Albanese, has singled out the BBC as one of the worst offenders in terms of propagating Israeli narratives, and not allowing Palestinian guests to talk about the suffering of their people.
Albanese told us that the BBC and UK government are wrong to claim that we have to wait for the ICJ ruling to determine whether Israel has committed genocide - and that Britain has a duty to prevent genocide.

The UK does not have a welfare crisis. It does, instead, have politicians who want to scapegoat the most vulnerable people in our society. Unscrupulous neoliberal politicians and commentators are our problem. Those in need are not. youtu.be/C89jDlwF1vs?si=LMYt…
