The course of world history would be different if Al Gore had won in 2000 but, even more important than that, America would have had its first "Halloween President"
If I was president I would 100% lose my party the midterms because I'm too busy being locked in decorating the White House for Halloween. My opponents would say "All the president cares about is his scary animatronics" and they'd be right.

Hey so HR, maybe don’t humiliate me in front of multiple of our peers because I came in to work to see that you put my photo through an AI generator to turn me into Moana, and when I asked if youd take the printed photo down, you asked why -

This really was your average class at an okay college a mere 20 years ago.
Mortifying that this is now what counts as a rigorous undergrad liberal arts class at an Ivy League school

Had an inkling, and just watched some film to confirm: The 2008 Phillies are the last team to dogpile after winning the World Series. By that metric, the last legitimate championship.
We need to bring back dogpiling after winning the World Series. What happened to us? Are we too cool to dogpile?

I’ve asked this before but is there any historical event that is like the Opposite of 9/11. Like something so good that happened that it changed the world forever

As a public defender this is very touching to read and an approach I wish many more ppl took.
Almost died 8 year ago today. Dude OD’d while driving and hit me while I walked, pinning me to a tree. Thankful to still be here, thankful I fought tooth and nail to reduce his jail time as much as possible and replace it with 3 years of intensive inpatient rehab. Hope he’s okay

The focus is actually on the fact that Amanda realizes in real time that Holmes is manipulating her, preying on her instinct to not want to be a bully or hurt other women. Nathan smiles at her, confirming, “you see how she does it.”
The movie is, like, not at all focused on whether Amanda Seyfried feels regret.

The MLB owners have done a frustratingly effective job at framing a salary cap as the only viable solution to “competitive balance” As a reminder, the players should not have to limit their earnings for a problem that a group of 30 billionaires created
Speaking to media at the World Series about an expected MLB lockout, MLBPA executive director Bruce Meyer said “none of this has to be happening.” Meyer said MLB’s push for a salary cap is about increasing franchise values and capping costs, not competitive balance.

I know that this is hard for people who have never been involved in labor negotiations to understand, but I’m sorry, it just doesn’t matter what 68% of the consumers in an industry think about labor negotiations. It’s labor vs. management. Consumers don’t get a say in this

If it is your belief that my employment invalidates my opinion, you are entitled to it. I see myself as a Clevelander who is part of the 68% of Athletic subscribers who are in favor of a cap/floor system, because we genuinely feel this particular financial system is stupid.
