The director general of the public RTS channel has resigned following a formal request/public pressure.
The channel has been a mouthpiece for successive Serbian gov’ts, at times so censored that they wouldn’t cover protests or major events right in front of their offices.

The Times: Vucic put out 4000 members of the loyal gendarmerie in the streets as well as black-clad thugs, preparing for a coup. But as the victory of Student List became inevitable, he was talked out of it by European officials - including Victor Orban. thetimes.com/world/europe/ar…

With 65.8% of polls reporting, we have a clearer picture of where this is going. The Netanyahu camp has 56, the opposition at 48 and the Arab parties at 16. The regressions I ran now average 55 for the Netanyahu bloc, 48 for the opposition bloc, and 17 for the Arab parties. This is looking like a FAR better night for Netanyahu and his folks than anyone expected. They are simply far more popular than we thought.

Israel has handed Netanyahu a humiliating defeat. But there's only one way the anti-Netanyahu bloc can ensure victory and avert his still-lurking danger: By lifting its Arab boycott | My analysis @haaretzcom

NEW: Vladimir Putin spent most of his call with the leaders of Finland and Norway ranting about Slavic history, underscoring Europe's tough task backing Ukraine in peace talks.
The planned 20-minute call dragged on for 90. A ceasefire barely came up:

Due to very high voter turnout there is preemptive optimism that it tips against Netanyahu. But many young first time voters are rightwing and at the end of the day, even with high voter turnout, what matters is how much the opposition bloc has./1

Nationwide voter turnout as of 4 P.M. stood at 55.7 percent, according to the Central Elections Committee. This is the highest turnout recorded at this hour in Israel since the committee began tracking voter turnout by time of day. The data was not collected before the 1973 election.

Serbia’s public broadcaster has apologized twice in the last 35 years for spreading regime propaganda: first for the Milošević propaganda that fuelled the wars of aggression in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, and now for serving as a mouthpiece of the Vučić regime.
📺 “We reported events one-sidedly for years”: Serbian TV apologizes to viewers after Vučić's party loses the election
Radio Television of Vojvodina (RTV) opened its news broadcast with footage of celebrations following the Student List's election victory — scenes it had failed to show the previous evening.
“For years, we failed to fulfill our duty. We kept silent, turned a blind eye, reported events one-sidedly, and failed to ask the necessary questions. For that, we owe our viewers an apology,” news anchor Goran Eror said.
Following the controversy, RTV's acting editor-in-chief Nenad Čačić resigned.
A similar incident occurred in Hungary, where state television also apologized to viewers after Viktor Orbán's election defeat.
Aleksandr Vucic wobbled on the line between “managed democracy” and outright authoritarianism - which made his half-and-half regime vulnerable, just as Shevardnadze, Orban and Yanukovych were, and Lukashenko and Putin (so far) are not…
