There's a deep hesitation in Boomers and Gen X to engage with Christianity. I am here to suggest to you that it is worthy of your time.

At the moment, there's a lingering reluctance among politicians to restrict the freedom of well-established religious groups that enjoy broad social acceptance (as well as a fear it could impact other favoured religions), but I don't know for how long that reluctance will hold

The revelations about how Henry Nowak’s family were treated are just horrific. The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary initially falsely suggested to them that Henry was the aggressor - rather than his murderer, Vickrum. They also told the family that officers immediately administered first aid to Henry. They only later admitted Henry was first handcuffed and arrested. Perhaps most appallingly, the IOPC told the family in April there were "no concerns identified" about how officers acted that night. I have spoken to medics who say handcuffing Henry behind his back would have worsened the bleeding. This family has been put through hell. My thoughts remain firmly with them.

“We don’t have sufficient law in place to cover this most insidious form – prayer. ” 🙏 Jayne Ozanne is crystal clear on what she wants the conversion practices Bill to actually target.

Talking about the need for transformation “is code for you must change yourself, you must deny yourself”. This, Jayne Ozanne says, is a form of ‘conversion practice’. So now it’s not even what is actually said, it’s about what activists like Jayne say is said by ‘1000s of evangelical churches’ in their ‘coded messages’. It’s true - the Christian faith is all about transformation – the need to turn from sin and to Christ. Without the need for transformation, there is no Gospel.

If left unchecked, this line of reasoning will lead to Catholicism being banned in the UK (again)
Imagine working in the CPS & police and being told you now have to decide **which prayers** should be part of a criminal charge… Jayne Ozanne is so blithely full of certainty it’s frightening. I think it shocked Danny Beales MP

Henry Nowak’s mother, Lucy Ross says: “Henry told the police nine times that he can't breathe, he can't breathe and he's been stabbed. What more do you want? ‘Don't think you have mate’ - what the hell is that all about?" “Why was Henry so dismissed and treated so badly? It's bad enough losing a child – to know that then he was treated in his last moments like that," she added. "My poor little boy needed help and he didn’t get it.”

🚨Henry Nowak was stabbed five times. While dying he told police nine times he couldn’t breathe and had been stabbed. They handcuffed him anyway after his killer lied about a racial attack. His family have now gone on television to say exactly how that night destroyed them. They are right to feel let down. This is what happens when a false allegation is believed over a dying man’s words.

Friends, my annual reminder: Be wary. Tonight is All Hallows’ Eve — the one night in the year when, by a mysterious privilege, doomed spirits, nosferatu, shape-shifters, hags, ghouls, neoconservatives (but I repeat myself), legal positivists, and even journalists are allowed to prowl the world, seeking the ruin of souls.

Decisions affecting human life, freedom, and the use of force must always remain subject to effective, informed, and responsible human oversight. For this reason, artificial intelligence must be “disarmed”, and I encourage the States meeting in Geneva in November to take concrete steps toward banning lethal autonomous weapons.

Machines are tools, not persons. Today, some propose granting these systems rights, or even legal personhood. Such an approach risks obscuring human responsibility and leaving those who suffer harm to confront a faceless entity.

The future of #ArtificialIntelligence is not pre-determined. As a technology developed by human beings, its future depends on the choices we make. We therefore have the responsibility to guide, change and, when necessary, reject its applications. A reliable system that serves the human person is of greater value than one that is exceptionally powerful but whose consequences cannot be adequately foreseen or controlled.

I do not understand why this beautiful sentiment is getting so much criticism. Our Holy Father is simply saying something obviously true and deeply profound: That Christ sanctifies and purifies cultures when they follow Him, but in precious and unique ways, drawing out what is already best and leaving behind what is worst. It is why the “many nations” can all proclaim Christ. It is why Christianity is so successful when allowed to be freely shared. Christianity does not homogenize. It glorifies.
Faith can be embodied in all cultures, because it does not identify itself with any of them in a specific one. It dwells within them, shaping them from within according to the “form” of Jesus Christ; that is, through charity, service and the filial recognition of God’s fatherhood. In this way, the Church draws from the various cultures all that is good, beautiful and true, in order to embody and transmit the message of the Gospel. #GeneralAudience

When we see the crowds of people forced by hatred and violence to walk the road to Calvary, let us recall that God has redeemed this road, walking it Himself, giving His life for us. Many Simons of Cyrene exist in our own day, bearing the cross of Christ on their shoulders!
