“I have never seen in my lifetime any entity, any regime, any soldier, or even a mob, protesting and raiding military bases, demanding or defending the right of soldiers to rape and use rape as a weapon of war,” Rula tells Naomi. “Israeli politicians are demanding to protect rapists in the name of self-defense… promoting the policy as a legitimate tool of war.”
We wouldn’t allow this from anyone in the world let alone one of our allies.
"A 'pro-rape' riot." In the new 'Unshocked,' @NaomiAKlein and @rulajebreal discuss the shocking report that Israeli protestors stormed a military facility to demand the release of soldiers detained for suspected sexual abuse.

Negative emotions like attachment and anger are part of our lives, but there are antidotes to them. We need to reflect not only on the damage anger and fear can do, but also on the benefits to be found in cultivating compassion and non-violence and find a balance between them.
