Government of Ghana’s statement on the tragic killing of Javits Frimpong in the Bronx, New York.
I have spoken to the father of Javits, Mr. Thomas Frimpong and directly conveyed the condolences of the Government and people of Ghana.
On my instructions, officials of our Permanent Mission in New York have visited the family and coordinating with local authorities.
The Foreign Ministry will work tirelessly with US authorities to ensure justice is secured.
The family of Javits and his loved ones remain in our thoughts and prayers. May God grant his lovely soul a peaceful repose.
For God and Country 🇬🇠🙏🏾

Mamdani is too quiet for my liking. It’s been over 24 hours and still no updates??? And he hasn’t addressed the issue?? Man this is ridiculous

Hey @NewYorkStateAG Letitia James: His name was Javits Frimpong. His father says the principal told him three days earlier that two students had been suspended for bullying him.
What did the school know? What was done to protect him? Will you demand a full accounting?
You’re New York’s attorney general. “This senseless gun violence must end. Now.” is a slogan. Tell this family what you’re going to do.
No child should fear their walk to school.
My heart is with the family and loved ones of the 15-year-old boy who was shot and killed in the Bronx today.
This senseless gun violence must end. Now.

Idk if you’re not from NYC I don’t care to hear your opinion about bullying that African kids endure at the hands of other ethnicities. Only WE know what truly happened in elementary, middle and high school. We were getting bullied left and right on a consistent basis.

The Ghanaian kids death should have sparked a discourse in the proliferation of firearms in the cities and the dangers of teenage gangs, but people will just use it as fuel for racist diaspora wars.
A kid is dead but they’re on TikTok arguing that he’s not black like this is the stupid conversations you want to have over a 15 year old getting shot and killed on his way to school by other teenage boys????? Enough internet for me today

Yes, but Africans deserve to live, travel and exist freely without constantly having to fear for their lives.

Surrounded by racists and bullies isn't an easy experience.
Every day you walk in that country, you make a big wager on life and death.
Even in the so-called Ivy League schools, racism comes searching for the black-skinned person.
One reason I felt we must do everything for Africa to succeed. For our home countries to succeed.
We must!!

One thing I’ve noticed about Africans is how quick they blame victims. A boy gets killed, and somehow his father is being blamed for living in that neighborhood. Did it ever occur to y’all that maybe that’s all he could afford working low wage jobs? The lack of empathy is insane.
This should teach us that not every city or neighbourhood is suitable for raising children. At some point, I question Javits Frimpong’s father’s decision to raise his son in the Bronx, where the crime rate is reportedly high and gang activities remain a concern in the neighbourhoods. As parents, we must be mindful of the environments in which we raise our children. Otherwise, they risk being exposed to violence, drugs and a life of crime. I hope the Government of Ghana intervenes and offers the family the necessary support during this difficult time. May we all learn from this tragedy, may his soul rest in peace. 💔 🕊️
Bawled my eyes out yesterday and waking up to the video of Javits Frimpong running for his life 💔 It just doesn’t make sense how hateful these teenage boys were towards him. Like he’s just a baby, a 15 year old in Ghana is fresh out of jhs, that’s a baby that’s a literal baby💔
This is the official gofundme for anyone who would like to donate. May he rest in peace and return home in peace.

It’s quite literally cause he was African. Unless you grew up in the Bronx with these ignorant xenophobic kids you have no idea what ur talking about.
Replying to @felabayomi @PIX11News
What makes you think it was because he was African. That's a stretch. Bullying happens everywhere. So if the kid was white what would your reasoning be
